Awww... seeing her totally spent, going to the grass. It reminds me of my racing days. Great job all of you, but also to the 16 year old right in the fight. Just being here is a victory for all these girls. They may not realize it now, but one day they will.

Yes indeed, Unlike Quincy Wilson that has a body that is already well muscled like a man. Both 16 year olds are fast and running on all heart and motivation. They both are great role models for others !

No one was under 16:00 i think the heat most have been overwhelming because the girls on heat1 were a lot faster and cranny is one of the best 5000k runners. Leachman being the younger is probably more affected by the hot weather.

Its will be nice to see Katelyn Tuohy and Parker Valby compete again, and on the same team! If they make it through in the 5000m finals. I wish them both well.👍🙏😍 Just like i predicted katlyn tuohy has been training for months and will be in the final 5000 olympic trials with parker valby. I said so months ago because once she said this was her dream. Dont count her out she is obviously holding back. Her speed.

They both have a tough job to make the team this year, but it will be fun to watch. It doesn’t look like they can both make the 5000 team. Cranny, Schweitzer, and St Pierre are strong AF. Go Katelyn and Parker!!! (And Parker should make it in the 10000 if she’s feeling good.). Btw Parker led her heat to a fast time and her 15:17 third in her heat would have won Tuohey’s heat by 3/4 of lap. Did you notice that?

I think it's a tough ask to expect anything other than a decent showing from Tuohy considering the injuries, she'll likely have to wait for another shot in 2028. Will be interesting to see if Valby can push onto the team though.

@@heightdevil a girl attacked me for saying this is on another video but i think sometimes meeting a boyfriend can change them mentally and physically as well. The ones who can go through motherhood and still be world class are the exception not the rule. A top running girl in her youth can change drastically physically and mentally into her late teens/early 20s and i think becoming a girlfriend can (sometimes) be a huge part of that.

Long distance runners always peak later in life, between 25 and 30.

American women distance runners have been infamous for having disappointing careers and injuries and peaking young. Women’s bodies change more than men’s, the high miles hurt, not help, and being a phenom is not any type of predictor of future success. The smart one is Valby. The cross training and pool work and running far less miles than other top distance runners has kept her healthy and fresh after those early injuries.
