Why is everyone so adamant she didn’t die?? In the BOOK Joe killed her and pinned the murder on the therapist who went to PRISON. In the SERIES Joe killed her and pinned it on the therapist who went to PRISON. She is dead. She does not come back in the second or third book. Joe meets someone new, several new women actually. The only way she can come back is in flashbacks/memories. They don’t throw you in prison without a body.

Here's the thing Candice's appearance, it could be a hallucination because we know Beck is having a cameo in the second season. Or she actually could be alive because she doesn't know that Joe's commited murder. Joe will kill you if it's his ass. Benji, Peach, Beck all could've and would have gone to the cops. Candice from what we were shown doesn't know of his crimes. She just knows he's an obsessive weirdo.

She definitely didn’t die. If you watch the show, Joe doesn’t kill anyone he loves. Just like how he didn’t kill his ex, even though everyone thought he did. We will see Beck again in season 2

I just finished the first season… It always helps put my mind at ease seeing the actors alive and well after watching their characters die tragically

"I am lucky to have Penn as a partner because he's just very respectful very thoughtful very considerate" - beck Damn girl he killed you

I thought she played the role so perfectly. She reminded me of ex girlfriends from college, and friends of mine that live in NYC to the "T". Perfectly captures the general/average NYC 20-something woman from this era.

I hope she does come back in season 2. In the second book, "Hidden Bodies." Joe does mention her a few times and I think he might have "seen" her, but hopefully they write her in a few times.

She's so beautiful and genuinely charismatic. I'd love to see her in some other stuff, she's really what gave You its center. It doesn't have the same sense of drama without her I don't think. She was the perfect counter-balance to Joe. Her humanity, vulnerability and believability kept the show grounded in spite of the wild stuff that went on in it.

It's crazy how much this show blew up! It was on lifetime first & released on netflix a few months after, but the books are really great! A lot more seedy & unnerving
