I wrote my very first research paper on Queen Elizabeth I. Interesting, it was for an Advanced English class in 9th grade, not a history class. We were studying Shakespeare, and had to do a blind draw for subject of paper. I drew Queen Elizabeth I. I truly, truly admire QEI and she has been my role model since I first learned of her. Gloriana.

What an extraordinary person....she was tough when needed, but also vulnerable too. One of history's most fascinating individuals.
Queen Elizabeth I definitely was no one to mess with. I admire the fact that she rule without a king. Women rules.

I think it’s a shame that this whole documentary was centered around her not having or needing a man. She reigned for 40 years-surely she did something besides behead her cousin and not start a religious war.

It was recorded by her nurse who passed it on to the King's council. It's easily verified if you research. Whether she said it or not? Who knows. Her nanny might be using Elizabeth as a mouthpiece for how she felt about the situation.
