Units In Video: Neptune PD 34-5 UM Tahoe Elizabeth BC Neptune System Engine 3 Quick Attack Iron Man Ladder 2 and Truck 628
Date Filmed: April 13 2019

So I feel like you need some more info on the Neptune System. For one thing it is a task force comprised of MULTIPLE departments in Union County. The task force comprises the Elizabeth, Union, Linden, Hillside, Millburn, Kenilworth, and Roselle Fire Departments . Also this system is foam capable and that is where the 12 foam trucks are for in the task force. This is usally accomplished with a engine using jet pumps and a water thief to add foam to the system using 2 1/2 hose. Also there is about 4000 feet of 12 inch hose as well. Now the Ironman nozzel is able to flow about 5000 GPM at 200 psi during foam operations. This system also is not able to be fed by hydrants at all or drop tanks. The main work horses are the 2 hydraulic powered pumps that are lowered into the water usually a large body of water. This is accomplished by using a tower ladder with a rope system. This system is rarely deployed due to the fact that there has not been a fire is a while that has called for it. This system is deployed yearly at Port Newark and I have been there personally a few times. Once you see it it person it is a awesome operation. Also on a side not when the FDNY spec'd the Marine one out they got 12 inch outlets ordered just for Neptune so with Marine 1s pumps at 10000 GPM and Neptune it increases ironmans GPM.

it's not done by having e.g. an Engine, Tanker and Aerial. There are some special operations which still have to be covered. Thus departments here also operate mobile cranes, nitrogen vaporizers, carbondioxide tanks, fire and rescue tanks, tow trucks, fire and rescue trains and so on ... cover everything you have in your response area plus special tasks you might be responsible for in a greater response area than your own station one's.
