Eliud Kipchoge and Kelvin Kiptum - training program compared (Detailed Workouts and New Info.)

Documentary comparing the training programs of two world-class marathoners.
It took 10 days of dedicated effort to create this training documentary video. We incorporated 259 elements in the video, including animations such as the intro and Google Earth animation, charts for visual explanation, audio recording, editing and mixing, as well as scripting. The training programs, charts and thumbnail were created using the BeFunky online editor, the commentator's voice was created using Eleven Labs, background audio was sourced from FreeSound, scripting correction using ChatGPT and the video editing was done using CapCut. We utilized the provisions of "fair use" for content available on KZread to enhance our video, aiming to provide viewers with valuable information about Eliud Kipchoge and Kelvin Kiptum's training system, which he employed to break the world record in the marathon.

Nobody knows about his/her tomorrow, just as we were wanting for Kiptum to break another record this year, we receive news that he is no more. Life is useless. Once you are gone its over, only memories will remain R.I.P

You mentioned a month of bodybuilding without detailing what they actually do regarding exercises and how much weight they use. Even though the marathon is about 98% Aerobic, I still think there would be some value in heavy weights or at least some hill-bounding exercises. No mention was given about calve raises or foot exercises. I believe the running they do as shown is probably what they do, but I think we are missing some important details. Also, there was no mention of the warmup, which is obviously crucial in any athletic event!

@MrTrack412 for kipchoge it all detailed in the video 07:05 he do general strength training (not heavy) of about 2.5 hours all basic such as running steps, aerobics with weight and special machines with light weights, ther is no specific details about kiptums strength training works.

It has a simple reason they run only two marathons a season like many other pros. It's the weather conditions it would be not ideal to run in summer or winter. You saw Kipchoge struggle during Tokyo due to rather warm and humid conditions.

Gret speed for football player but we cannot compare it with track and field athletes especially the sprinters, sprinters on different level. Thanks for the comment 🙏

Kelvin Kiptum has a huge advantage his height. He is about 5 to 10 cm taller then many professional marathon runners from Kenya, Ethopia or Uganda. Even 12 cms taller then Eluid Kipchoge this is can make a difference too like it for Usian Bolt.

  • @RunnerUniverse

Maybe but need some research and more studies to confirm that, for sprinters it's valid and correct. Thank you for your comment @paxundpeace9970

@@kduty236 Yes, but don't forget that a lot of world class and best enduarnce athletes are relativly short like bekele , Gebreselassi and kipchoge. but also this is not a general rule to take, you can find also taller on the other side who are very fast. but for me it's all about genetics and a lot of human interventions and technology. 🙏
