Devs: there should always be at least one surface site under attack at all times. Surface thargoid combat is the very best gameplay in ED.

i agree i love this part of the game and it has been missed i havent taken part in the titan attack but i am returning to surface conflict zones for bug smashing and some rescue mission and far has as with the material helper goes i agree its a big no huge must have

Cannot praise the Odyssey Materials Helper App enough. The latest upgrade is just fantastic - the grind getting materials nearly had me walking away from the game

Seriously Burr Pit. The quality of your updates are very professional. From the voice audio, back ground music, cinematic scenes and of course the information on the game is top notch.

Indeed, on a single Indra run solo I netted 16 mil so now each run is worth more than an Orthrus LOL

I love ED Observatory and have contributed to the Reddit post. As an explorer in the black, the Thargoid bore, is really dragging out. I hope in the near future FDev give use explorers, especially those of us with FC, a juicy CG deep (+30K Ly from Sol) in the black. Really enjoy your weekly updates

@@TwelvePaws I just don't think you'll have much longer to wait. 3 Titans left. Takes a month normally to take down a Titan (roughly). 3 months left until powerplay deploys. I think at least one Titan might actually be left standing at the end ... We're nearly there now... Exciting times 😉o7

Top 25% for 5 hearts so far, bout 300mil in bombing runs. The Sirius racks are so worth the materials.

ED Odyssey MH is one of the best tools out there now for sure, along with Elite Observatory.

Idra gonna die! PURGE THE XENOS! Port CZs are awesome. Its nice having the repair facility right there. Makes protracted AX combat more practical. Rather than just fight hard, limp back to the carrier.

the best day of the week... a little relaxation with the trailer and then quality content... thanks for keeping us up to date... it even makes me want to reinstall...🤔

I use both ED Observatory and EDO Material helper they are great tools. I also use EDCoPilot another great tool. After all the time and work FDev put into the Thargoid war it would be a shame to just end it. There should always be a system or two under attack for Commanders who want some endgame gameplay.

Elite dangerous development have basically pivoted towards the easier to maintain combat oriented things, while the overall progress of the game kind of returns to a stagnated development, well, there's hoping Elite Dangerous 2 will make use of a good game engine at least and dumping their own cartoon-looking cobra engine for unreal engine or any other proven game engine that doesn't make the game look like it'd fit better in some rollercoaster game or the sims 2/3 era graphics.

I wish I could use any kind of extension. I'm a console migrant and I only get to play through geforce now on my phone. Getting my own rig is unfortunately not in my future for some time.

So, as someone who just started playing this week, is it at all possible to jump in and participate in this titan event to get some of those neat rewards?

If you've literally started this week ... I'd love to be able to tell you "yes" ... But, dependent on how much you've played obviously, I'd be very surprised if you could get to Titan space and then survive the journey to the Titan itself... Let alone survive the attack.

hmm is observatory easy to install? didnt know about these trackers. been farming high grade mats raw for ages. i barely use Inara, i find it all very fiddly.

None of them are complicated. ED Odyssey material helper is the one with the HGE tracker.

6222 hours doing bgs and I just never seen a thargoid in my part of space so I never had to fight them out of my territory.

I believe you've always needed to do the damage within a week of the titan dying, so yes, you will need to redo it. On the bright side you'll find it much easier to do 2 million now that Indra is vulnerable; I was doing at least 3 million per run last night.

Yes. Damage only counts in the 7 days before the Titan's destruction.

In their twilight?? I don't know what galaxy you live in, but it's certainly not the Elite Dangerous one! And yes, a good HOTAS is absolutely worth every penny. I've got a VKB Gladiator and absolutely love it too death, paired with a Thrustmaster TWCS throttle has a fantastic control layout but questionable build quality (I'm on my second one, and was up quite late the other night working on it.)

That's the problem i play elite dangerous for couple of months on console that's difficult when you can't have Odyssey to earn lot of money quickly im still looking for material in horizons because i want my Anaconda get fully equiped and ready for exploration, combat, and appreciate the game but that goal seems so far ahead of me because you need to gather huge amount of money if you want fleet carrier to jump far for boose cruise and go on sites to know when it happen instead doing this permanently this game could be good but for now as long as we can't have Odyssey on console as we paid same price it's kind of discrimination and unfair we don't have complete game everyone talk about Odyssey that makes me crazy because im stuck in cockpit i can't use camera same way and rebuy ship you know i played Freelancer long time ago that was easier more pleasant i like Elite dangerous but lot of stress because of combat system not fluid and even if you have badass ship superior to same of ennemi front of you they are always more difficult to destroy when you reach master level that's not logical Frontier has lot of work to do to make the game really attractive because there are more and more other games to come unfortunatly for them

I was hoping the new tool was an in-game thing. What was I thinking. Of course, it isn't. On another note: FDev needs to add Thargoid ground forces already.

I feel too overwhelmed by this ani thargoid mechanics and activities. Need something simple ;) Never joined killing titan.

Yup - same here. I spent ages kitting out ships for tackling the titans, especially as I tend to chase decal rewards in the game. But the actual gameplay just tuned me off. I think it's because the titan stuff is easier/fun in a group. I'm a solo player with limited time. The thargoid focus has driven me from the game - occasionally I think about re-engaging with it but a review of Cmdr Mechan's videos just leaves me thinking its all too fiddly for me to want to bother with.

​@@paulwhite9431That's interesting. I prefer to do my Titan bombing solo. I've tried out in a group and found the timing more difficult and the radar was a cloud of 'Goid signals. Flying solo I have a lot more control over things and feel less pressure.

@@Datan0de I was thinking more from the point of view of "running defense". I noticed on the vids of the AX guys channels that they usually have a mate kiting the interceptors away from them while they were making their run. I thought maybe that made it less of a hassle. I don't know - I'm glad some people like it, but I just can't get enthused with this titan stuff - it feels like a chore. You know, I can happily run trade routes or go xeno-plant hunting and lose an hour without noticing, but the goid stuff just bores me - its like I need an excel spreadsheet to plan all the junk that I need to take with me and then follow the procedure in this order, not that order. I'd sooner clean the bathroom or pair my socks or something.

The "reduction to goid npcs in titan instances" note is wrong. I see double or even tripple the amount of goid npcs as I did just the night before. Its making it practically impossible to do titan runs in solo anymore and it sucks.

@@jaubury Issue seems to have been hotfixed yeh. I tried again today, no longer having hundreds of random goids already spawned in the instace attacking me regardles sof heat level. They no longer detect you at 0% heat.

2 hearts as of right now, I thought.

All resources should be able to be purchased you want more players kill the mind numbing grind that only people that truly have no life or responsibility to the one true simulation we all well most of us anyway real life catering to the hard-core is why this mess has the life support player numbers it does ditching console was a huge mistake if I play it will be on series x I have no plans returning to the pc dumpster fire that I wasted money on at least you can be in a comfy chair while you waste your life with this grind fest

I am very grateful for all that this channel does, but can you please stop the “they” nonsense when referring to an individual. It’s such virtual signalling claptrap and there are much more important things to be concerned about than pronouns, like (say) crippling poverty, the existential threat of climate change, and the global political lurch to the far right (to name but a few). When you have served your country in three armed conflicts, you come to realise that pronouns really are unimportant.

I'm not sure why you think referring to someone on the internet as "they" is nonsense as surely referring to someone as “they” is a simple attempt to be polite and respectful toward someone you haven’t met in person and have no idea of their gender, or how they would prefer to be addressed. Ironically making assumptions about people (as you have done throughout your post by the way) is incredibly rude, ignorant and disrespectful. Something that is hilarious signalled oh so very often on the internet by use of the word “but” after the initial opening statement in a comment. Your service in the military does not afford you the right to go stamping around the internet telling decent people how they should live or conduct themselves! Also the phrase you were striving for is “Virtue Signalling” …not “Virtual Signalling” and was, in this instance, used in the incorrect context. Ironically and somewhat hilariously, everything you said after you stumbled over the term was in fact virtue signalling.
