You can have a horse like that. Just burn his patterns with acid and put 10 pound shoes on his feet. The bit is pulled so far back in his mouth he can't close his mouth, if you can't close your mouth you can't swallow and the horse is choking on his own saliva. Turn off the music and then watch it in slow motion. His back legs are buckling and his head is bobbing, and then go look at some Tennessee walking horse videos, it's the same thing but not as bad ,yet,

Its phoney, they scored his feet just just like the Tennessee walking horses, Google soreing and big lick and compare, the gait is just a less severe version of the big lick. Watch it with out music and slow motion.

@@sydneyparks1311 extremely respectfully BULL PUCKY! In the arena Witherspoon the girl riding his front feet hurt. On the road with the girl his front feet REALLY HURT ! He his front feet hurt and he is trying to shift his weight on to his rear feet. The guy is heavier and it is more difficult to shift his weight and not loose balance. Going up the driver's the cameras angle is focused on the back legs his hocks, (the knees) are buckling outwards because she doesn't weigh as much and he is again able to shift his weight and the outward buckling is clearly visible even to an untrained eye. People turn off the loud distracting music and watch concentrate on the rear legs. They never straighten out on extension because he is anxious to get weight off his front so he quickly moves his front feet which makes him go faster. Faster also makes more adrenaline which cuts the pain so they don't show him til he's warmed up but sometimes he isn't as warmed up as much. Several years ago they did these procedures to a MULE and the mule did the same thing.

as an equine physical therapist, I respectfully disagree. watched hind legs carefully. head-nod - remember these horses are bred from TW stock that nod, also he may be yielding to the curb bit a little more every few strides - but it's not every stride. I'd go with an elastic curb strap and see what he does rather than a chain.

watchgoose ...What I thought I saw is almost imperceptible, loved the horse, but know nothing of equine physical therapy, or much of gaited horses, except I've ridden a few. We don't have those breeds here in Australia, and gait is not encouraged, but we have the gene in some of the old bush horses. May I make my comment here pls on the need for equine physical therapy? In the old days horses were used constantly and kept fit. Now they are a Sunday ride, and rarely properly fit. So they get fresh then sore and play up and I don't blame them. Add to that, stirrups have got shorter, the longer the irons the further forward the seat, (I'm not talking walking horse breeds now, they ride long, and the horses perform as they do because the weight is down there) Here is how I see it, this is my own opinion. The front legs are vertical pillars, weight carrying. The hind are a series of angles, and the engine is back there, but with short stirrups the seat goes back, then they're sitting on the drive shaft, which has no visible means of support. Causes all sorts of resistance and problems, over-bending and trailing out behind and pulling. I've not had the experience of a troubled horse, I ride long, and on my stirrups, not the back of the saddle. They seem to love it and enjoy their work. I do endorse your work, but it might help if you look at the riders on the horses you treat, as I believe that shorter stirrups are causing a lot of issues. People get a false sense of security if they're shorter, but its not ergonomically correct, for the horse or the rider. Top dressage riders who get elevation and impulsion, hocks under, are riding almost impossibly long. Those who train the gaited breeds look as though they are sitting back, but all their weight is in their feet, and they're riding above the horse, smoke and mirrors.

I agree. Looks off in left hind. It shows more when the little girl is riding him and she doesn’t look relaxed and sits too forward. He might have a loose stifle- a lot of gaited horses have stifle issues and as fast as this boy is pushed, it may be his issue. Still a nice stallion. The guy has some nice horses and he can ride them very well.

@Kimberlee Sheets.. These horses are naturally gaited. The only thing hard on them is when those "Big lick" TWH owners put stacks and unreasonable weights on them to exaggerate the animation of the gait...

Standardbreds bred for racking naturaly do it alot of times but as far as height I have seen them 14 hands and I've seen them 17 hands

A ton. Heck there's even different kinds of walkers. Different kinds of racking horses too. ...but the main difference is the walker was bred for a running walk gait which is slower than a rack in most cases. Although some walkers can and do rack as well as running walk. Some of the racking horses you see are naturally gaited just as some walkers are naturally gaited . Some of the racking horses are taught to rack, or singlefoot, even though their natural gait would be a pace or a trot.

Tennessee walkers are naturally gaited and will do a flat walk running walk and a slow rack and will do it in the field as foals but they are alot smoother but alot slower and have a lower headset and don't have much frontend also you do not have to keep wieght in there mouth to keep them in gait because they are vary natural.And racking horses are standardbred bloodlines and some are trotters and some are pacers and will only rack or singlefoot its the same thing but no running walk or flat walk but a walker rack and a racking horses rack is the same pattern but the only reason the walkers are slow and standardbreds are fast is because of the stride length but racking horses have alot more front end some more than others but this causes them to have alot further stride witch cause them to be faster and there back legs go under them further witch causes them to be faster but the are not as smooth as a walker because the longer the stride and the more front end and they hit the ground harder it causes the back to move more also you have to keep alot of weight in there mouth to keep them in gait and to keep them from breaking into a run or pace or trot.A trotter bred though has a higher head set and a little more front end and on average but a pacer usually has a little lower headset than a trotter but usually have more speed.

Yes, I think that rack/slow gait/running walk (German: Tölt) is harder than trotting.

His hind end is going to break down being constantly pushed that hard. He is clearly not comfortable in a prolonged gait. He also is fretting a lot the hind shots are disgusting. Stop using Jesus music to cover bad hard training methods. This is NOT something to be proud of..
