Elio is such a vast and complicated character that he becomes the simplistic image that we see in ourselves. We all have struggled through the pain of losing someone you fell madly in love with. It's wrong for people, to say that age has anything to do with Love or the emotions it brings. "You're too young to be in love." No one, not a single person is too young to experience Love. Maybe too young to handle love and the responsibilities, hardships and consequences that it brings. But no one is too young to understand what it means to truly love someone. To feel your heart break when you lose them, to be so in pain that you cry for days, weeks, maybe even months. That it to know Love. Because pain of that magnitude only comes when you've lost someone irreplaceable, someone you loved with your whole heart. It's not something that has to be taught in order to understand. It's something that has to be felt and experienced. There are plenty of young people, or people in general, myself included, who understood what it meant to be in love at a young age. You do things for this person that you would NEVER do for anyone else. You risk so much to be with and make them happy, even if it means you will be grounded or get beaten by your parents. Even more so for people like me who grew up having to hide what you are.

And the message of "Call Me By Your Name." About not turning away from your pain and facing it head on. It will make you better. If you need to scream then scream. If you need to cry your eyes out, then cry your eyes out. Accept the pain for what it is, stay strong and surround yourself with positive people as it runs it course, and then let it pass. You'll know when you are ready to let go. Until then, don't hide the pain and lock it away and don't kill it. Because all the joy you felt will die with it.

I was especially fond of Elio's father Professor Perlman. His words to Elio at the end brought me to tears as it represents everything a parent should be for their children. His words for Elio were kind and sentimental but very much the truth. "We rip out so much of ourselves to be cured of things faster that we go bankrupt by the age of 30 and have less to offer each time we start with someone new and before you know it, your hearts worn out and as for your body, there comes a time when no one looks at it anymore, let alone wants to come near it. Right now there is sorrow, pain. Don't kill it and with it the joy you felt." Elio is such a precious and relatable character. Timothèe Chalamet, my Hollywood crush, lol, did an absolutely brilliant job of bringing Elio to life. This story is such a needed thing in the world right now. Because it speaks to us all on some level. Maybe for some of us, on all levels. Whether you are in Elio's position, admiring someone older and more experienced. Or in Oliver's position admiring someone younger and desiring the acceptance from your family that he gets from his.

Well said. He’s a very unique character, and brave too. Way braver than me at his age. “Because I thought you should know. I thought you should know....”

On a dark, rainy, cold valentine's day, great music with baby Timmy's Jurassic-age violent T-Rex expressions and the resulting madness of volcanic eruptions in the million peach-devotees on this planet are not at all futile devices. Human kids should be kept far away safe from on-screen violence, albeit vampire kids are the exceptions since they follow the constitution sent by the Queen of Arrakis, and do not obey the substandard gossip based majority voting mechanism of the jealous tail-free bipeds on this planet who think Slytherins and T-Rex are two different vegan species.
