Eleven Point | Kayaking Camping 40 Miles in the Ozarks

Embark on a four-day adventure through the breathtaking Eleven Point River, which winds along the picturesque border between Missouri and Arkansas. Our journey begins at the rustic Cane Bluff campsite, offering a modest yet cozy starting point. With the river's flow at approximately 420 cfs, we encountered unexpected challenges, but the rewards were worth it.
As we navigated through the meandering river, we were greeted by numerous small springs that kept the water crystal clear and the riverbed sandy. The towering scenic bluffs provided a stunning backdrop to our journey. Although our time constraints prevented us from reaching Greer Crossing, one of the world's largest springs, we marveled at the unique beauty that surrounds it.
During our expedition, we also explored the fascinating history of Turner Mill, the focal point of the remote town known as Surprise. Founded out of sheer surprise at the potential of this remote area, Turner Mill played a vital role in the community, grinding various crops like grain, corn, sorghum, and tobacco.
As we reached our takeout point, we experienced a mix of emotions. The excitement of reuniting with family and the comforts of home was undeniable, but the allure of adventure and exploration remained strong.
Join us as we revisit the Eleven Point River, a place that promises unforgettable adventures and a deep connection with nature. It's not just a journey; it's a celebration of both the past and the present.
Our Kayaks:
NuCanoe Unlimited
NuCanoe Frontier 12
Eddyline Caribbean 14
The Trip:
We voyaged 40 miles from Cane Bluff seeing sights such as Greer Spring, Turner Mill, Boze Mill, Mary Deckard Shoals and Halls Bay Chute, passing Riverton and Morgan Spring, ultimately ending our trip at Myrtle Access.

Thanks for the kindness! We got our start kayaking on the Pomme. We haven't been back in several years because of concerns with the pollution. We figure if we go back, we should do it right and help spread the word!

They're Nucanoes. The Unlimited and Frontier 12 are beasts! 700lbs capacity, easy to stand up and walk around on and they handle remarkably well, too.

@@escapewithjay Spring fed streams are the best! It's crazy to think about an underground system of rivers and lakes that are crossing paths underneath you as you float. All the pressure pushes the water up through minerals that filter and clean it. The result is brilliant!.

How long does the permit process take to be able to fly the drone?

  • @OzarkMediaCo

    @OzarkMediaCo

    3 күн бұрын

Literally forever, because NPS will never approve recreational drone flying in a park. They do however permit off-road vehicles, bluetooth speakers, jet boats and outfitters to drop drunken day trippers all over the river.

I'd try to start early on the first day and.pirnthaat first stretch behind you in the morning. Don't pass up any really good campsites bc they're few and far between. Very thick brush on the banks of the 11 point.
