Elevator Chime Compilation #7 - Hitachi

Ғылым және технология

This is now the seventh elevator chime compilation in this channel, which features bells, chimes and beeps from Hitachi Elevator, one of the largest manufacturer of elevators in Japan. A shoutout goes to Sumosoftinc for his birthday today! (August 20)
Chimes and beeps featured in this video:
• Classic bell chimes (1): Commonly heard in older installations prior to the 2000s.
• Classic bell chimes (2): Has a distinctive sound resembling older Fujitec chimes. Usually heard in some older installations from the late 1980s to 1990s.
• Electronic chime (1): Commonly heard in many Hitachi installations in the 2000s. Some elevators in Japan would play the chime reversed.
• Electronic chimes (2): Commonly heard in Singaporean-made Hitachi elevators since the mid 2000s. Normal pitch for older installations and higher pitch for later installations. These chimes are commonly heard in Singapore and Hong Kong.
• Custom/generic chimes from Oriental Hotel Georgetown in Penang, Malaysia.
• Classic bell chimes (3): Commonly heard in modern Hitachi elevators made by Guangzhou Hitachi Elevator.
• Floor passing beeps: Indicates that the elevator passes a floor. So far the beeps have been heard in many Singaporean-made Hitachi elevators in Singapore.
• Floor button beep from several Japanese and Singaporean-made Hitachi elevators.
• Door close buzz sounds: Commonly heard in some Singaporean-made Hitachi elevators. Also included here is a door close buzzer sound from a 1983 Hitachi freight elevators with vertical sliding doors.
*Note: Credit goes to TG97Elevators for allowing me to use some of his videos for this compilation. Also note that some other videos featured here were recorded by TG97Elevators; those videos were officially given to me as the person no longer upload new contents.

I wonder why too. They used to be quite common in the 1980s-1990s, but they're slowly becoming less popular in the early 2000s. They are often found in government buildings or statutory boards in Jakarta, but rarely in commercial buildings.

Hitachis are quite rare here in Indonesia. They are now mostly found in government and some ministry buildings in Jakarta, but very rarely in commercial buildings or even shopping malls. I'm pretty sure they were quite common back in the 1970s and 1980s, but now they are very rare. Even the newer ones from the 2010s onwards are found in government buildings, one of them is the Ministry of Home Affairs.
