Amer Fort or Amber Fort is a fort located in Amer, Rajasthan. Amer is a town with an area of 4 square kilometres located 11 kilometres from Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. Located high on a hill, it is the principal tourist attraction in Jaipur. Amer Fort is known for its artistic style elements. With its large ramparts and series of gates and cobbled paths, the fort overlooks Maota Lake.
Thousands of Tourists visit the Amer Fort Every day. Some of these travel by their own vehicles to visit the fort or some even reach the main gate by riding on the Elephants. On my recent visit to Jaipur, I went to see a very unique village called, ‘ELEPHANT VILLAGE’, a few kms from Amer Fort.
This village was created as a home for the Elephants and their owners which has lots of open spaces, water bodies etc. The families of the Mahuts conduct different activities for the visitors like Elephant bathing, Painting, Rides etc.
One should definitely spend some time here if you are planning to visit the pink city.
