It is so sad to see all the pain an elephant goes through to only have the ending be spent in a dream world.

I watch this video every couple of weeks, still brings tears every time. Thanks Sike

Rita Stevenson yes but why was she dragged away from the herd at the end on a chain. He dragged her away on a chain & you could see by her face she felt as though she'd been cheated & tricked. I thought what a cruel ending

@@rebekahlegionsundaygirljou5543 - Maybe she needed to be treated by a vet or monitored because of her poor health? That's not a large chain and the mahout wasn't hurting her. If you do some research, you'll find that this is a very good rescue organization. By the way, I don't blame you for your concern, but I've watched numerous videos and read several articles about this sanctuary.

I wondered the same thing about the chain. How has the elephant been able to bear walking on the hip/leg? It looks extremely painful. Blessings to the rescuers! Please, only good times from now on 4 this brave elephant

Heartbreaking to watch. I hope and pray that poor animal is getting the love and blessings she's been denied so long.

I sobbed when I saw her injured leg. I sobbed when the ellies so lovingly welcomed her. Thank you All 🐘🐘🐘. So whose next?!!!

These creatures deserve the best care possible , and it looks like there getting it more and more .

In many ways, it's too late because of her severely crippled body buy not too late to enjoy the quality of life she still has in her. It breaks my heart because you know she suffers with each step she takes. Humans can be incredibly cruel and self-serving!! Please give her extra time in the water to take the weight off her body. I pray she enjoys the peace she now has.... Thank you Lek!!

Hip injury. Usually comes from logging or force breeding.

Some familys could learn from these animals. Compassion...forgivness..etc.

I didn't realize I had tears streaming down my face.😂💝😭

Amazing how they are still capable of joy & forgiveness despite what nasty humans have put them through.

They have to hide these animals, what breaks most hearts is not the same. Some people just want to kill. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think so.

That's first 2 seconds at the beginning of the video where the elephant walked cripple shocks me. I didn't finish the video and go straight to writing up this comment. Hope he or she is cured. Poor thing. Break my heart.

Better Solution Avoid Elephants for treks & any entertainment with an Elephant in it. Research & find legit Sanctuaries & contribute your service there

She can barely walk, she's still chained, is sick with diarrhea, and still that a$$hole is clawing her with a bullhook. I'm so glad she was rescued from this appalling situation.

@1:57 my heart is breaking for her. I have had 4 knee replacements due to injuries. One done on my left knee the other 3 were done on my right knee within 1 & 1/2 years because all 3 failed almost immediately for various reasons. That all started about 10 years ago. After the 3rd try to replace my knee there have been no more efforts to do so because so much of the surrounding structures are now too damaged to support another prosthesis. So for the last 6 years I have been virtually chairbound. I can use a rollator to walk short distances in my home but that’s it. There is constant pain on some level. I say all that to say whenever I see these many elephants with leg/hip/knee injuries, usually caused by logging or trekking my heart just bleeds for them. They are so much larger than I so I know the weight the dysfunctional joint must bear is extreme. They were forced to continue these forced labor jobs in spite of their current and worsening extremely painful injuries. Some times for decades. And though they are about as intelligent as we are, feel the same physical pains as well as emotional pains that we do, the fact that we don’t speak their language allows us to turn a blind eye to their horrible pain. My heart breaks for them. I pray they can find peace at ENP or another ethical sanctuary.

I don't think Lek would be happy to know how the mahouts who were trying to get her to and into the truck were using those horrible hooks on her left ear. At least she will never experience that painful humiliation again. I hope those mahouts are never used again, either.

While logging is illegal, I don't think owning an elephant is illegal as of yet. So pretty much the owners can do whatever they please. That's why rescuers have to buy the elephants and release them to sanctuaries. But this isn't perfect either because the owners go and buy another. It's a vicious circle.

They will just get another elephant. god will take care of people that abuse his creatures and the reward for good guys will be heavenly.

Has anyone heard any new update on pang Dao the elephant? I saw the video Argo films made on her but that was 7 years ago. I'm just curious if she's been rescued since...

loved the video, but saw something disturbing at the end of video where the elephant had thick wire on front bottom of foot was being pulled WHY???

What can be done about her hip/leg? There seems to be a dislocation or something. Can they help her?

Yees, this is sad see this elephant have problems and also shit just when the men push on him for enter in the box truck. Anyway, life is like that for all of us. We eat and after we defecate, elephant too. As they eat greenery and branchs of trees, they must defecate that stuff. Life is life. God blezss all elephant in Sri Lanka, Asia and Africa of course.
