ya folks can whine how the WTA levels are lower than the ATP, however when it comes to entertainment levels this match demonstrates why, at times, the WTA is more entertaining...what an entertaining match...back and forth/back and forth. Rybakina I knew would have her chances, but Putintseva has been playing very well of late. Great match ladies

As a big fan of Elena, it would be nice if Elena can win this tournament. But the one I am looking forward to is the FO. For the past few years, Iga was so lucky and avoided her owner and won 3 FOs. Hopefully, Iga will collide with Elena as early as the quarter so that Elena can show Iga the exit door at Roland Garros.

What a match! For a long time, it was believed that matches in clay surface, would have to be exausting rallies from the court baseline. Elena showed that net attack could be sucessfull based on effective shot approaches and volley technique! Great come back Elena!

Elena’s weakness- no driver license. She is such a lady in the court. No yelling, no smashing, no argument, no drama, just pure tennis skills, like Federer. Nerves of steel, never looking down or screaming at her corner, on top of that, beautiful. The WTA should expose her more, make her the poster child. We need her in more interviews, she is obviously a very smart strategist tennis player.

Wow, Yulia just couldn't close the match, let her guard down? And Elena seems to raise her level, just didn't succumb.

Putinseva’s anger at the end is understandable. From 2/5 match point down in the 3rd set Rybakina would hardly miss. She raised her game so much to show she is world number 4 for a reason. What a match! Both players refused to bulge. They fought themselves toe to toe. Kudos to both players. Congrats Elena.

Wow! This was a classic match between an offensive player versus a defensive player! Can the offensive player keep their errors in check or can the defensive player run down enough balls and play enough cagey shots to win?? Both fought hard! Very entertaining match! I thought Yulia had it for sure, but Elena hung tough and battled for the win! Congrats! Yulia would be one of my favorite players if it weren't for her consistent sour attitude! I can certainly understand her frustration with this loss, however. I can understand Elena's frustration when things weren't going her way. That's very unusual for her to display, however... I can identify as I have lost to defensive players due to my own errors!

Полностью согласна с вами. Лена плохо видит площадку и перемещающегося игрока. Если соперник еле достал удар от Лены, поскользнулся, и летит в противоположный угол площадки, то Рыбакина посылает мяч именно туда - в руки соперницы! В противоход она редко бьёт. Жаль!

С 15 :40 и 2:5 и трос , удача в этот день на её стороне ,Путинцева молодец , конечно ей обидно .

Молодец! ТОчно подмечено. Без настроя вышла на игру. Проснулась в конце, когда уже все, пуля почти у лба, в последний момент открыла глаза и увернулась от пули. =)))
