That aged very badly

Paula is far away from her best level. She needs to rest. Congratulations for her consistency. Even exhausted she is a fighter. Congratulations also to Elena : she has greatly improved her footwork on clay. And of course her strikes are always very efficient.

Although Rybakina lose, this match proves she can play on clay Her offense is not as strong becuz of clay reducing the her ball speed but she's moving way better cuz she can slide and has more time to chance balls

It's always tough to predict what clay will do for a big player. Sometimes the power is so immense that clay does not reduce it's effectiveness and the clay ends up being a boon that gives them more time to set up for the shot and play better defense. But other times the power is insufficient to get through the clay and ends up taking away their primary weapon.

weirdest match, still baffled as to why Paula choose to not finish a point instead of playing the ball in the middle and not playing side to side to make her opponent run. she needs to improve her aggressive play and not always stick to being defensive

Both tried so hard to lose this bazarre match at the tiebreak that's clear Rybakina fought harder and lost (reminded me Schwartzmann vs. Tsitsipas recently in Monte Carlo a trying-to-lose festival) I'm not even a lil bit surprised with the final result I'm surprised how Paula made to be a 50/50 match for me the pre-match probability was about 80/20 at least, Rybakina almost lost for the german kid.

This is a nice match up for a 2nd rounder. Compliments to both ladies.

Badosa always chooses to serve/receive on the side that her opponents are going to choose 🤨 she has strategy 🤯

I follow up Badosa since she started playing and I like her.. She won the Indian wells and beat Rybikana at French Open but she prevails by winning the Wimbledon.

Badosa's willingness to go for those more risky, down the line shots really seemed to give her the edge in some of their longer rallies.

Rybakina is Russian, Moscow-born. She only represents Kazakhstan because they offered to support her career and do training for her. She is still a Russian citizen. So all this flag-denial is just nonsense.
