    Wow I never realized that making the master length longer would play out the rest of the notes for a track with a shorter scaling, thank you so much for that tip! Really will help in making longer slow melodies.

    Length parameters used to mess me up on the Digitone. I mean, it seems logical at fist, but in practice I couldn’t figure it out. Thanks for explaining it. Looking forward to using a Syntakt here myself soon!

    Notice when you copy+paste trigs you hold multiple trigs when pasting which is not necessary! Can just hold the first step where you want the copied steps to start and the rest will fill out automatically. Especially useful if you're trying to copy to steps 7+8+9, for example - saves a big hand stretch.

  • @soffter

    @soffter

    holy crap you're so right 😂 i always just assumed cause the text was the "func" color it had to be held but you are SO correct, if you're holding a trig you just need to tap one of those buttons! the pasting bit is just an old habit because some other boxes are not as smart as elektron ;)

    @@soffter Took me two years with the DT to realise I didn't have to hold down! Felt like I just got speed hacks. Had one since release and still finding tricks... Like when Mario blew your mind with the randomise page function on the ST the other day. Went and tried it on the DT and was shocked that it worked. New level unlocked. Now I just need them to implement velocity/aftertouch assignments on the DT - it feels a bit left out next to ST and DN now :( .. I need my velocity to filterrrrrr.

    not gonna lie I'm surprised you didn't extend out the concept deemed "stutter" to its logical, violent end. going down to 16 is cool but, and maybe it's just me but for me, going down to 4..2....dare I say 1....... now that's a stutter if I do say so myself. either way I'd never thought about doing it until you flirted with the idea so thanks friendly perfect circuit video man

  • @soffter

    oh yah, you can take it even FARTHER should you chose by using the tempo multipliers! write your sequences longer at 2X and then stutter twice as fast ;)

    Thanks for sharing! I purchased the Syntakt and love it. I’m considering selling my kidney for the OP1 field, but have a question I can’t seem to get info about. Do you know if the USB midi will connect with Syntakt ? I would like to use my electron boxes to sequence external midi from OP1 field. Do you have any insight into that? Is that possible out of the box or will we need a midi host. I’m confused bc isn’t iOP1 field supposed to be a midi host? Or do you know if this is a future thing? I love the OP1 sounds but prefer elektron sequencing. Thanks for your time as always!

  • @soffter

    @soffter

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yeah the Syntakt has a very robust midi section! you can use USB midi and even set up macros for mod/pitchwheel and a few others, there are a few settings you'll want to check in the system settings, but the syntakt totally can do bi-directional USB midi ! you can only use the USB for one thing at a time tho, so like, it's either midi or audio, cant do both !

    Me too, but I also said that I would buy the Digitone, if the (great) Arp could be routed Midi - which never happened, since the Octatrack's (great) Arp is already Midi (but not for the internal engine). I got the impression that Elektron is teasing me (to say it kindly), since both added functions would be only a few lines of code. Leaving out the Arp totally in the Syntakt made just drop that otherwise interesting instrument completely off my focus.

    Hey, great video, but I’m a little confused as to how I would choose the semitones with the LFO. I presume the values need to go in the LFO depth parameter, but it looked like yours was at zero. Can you help me out here?

  • @soffter

    @soffter

    Жыл бұрын

    ah yes the depth is how you set the semi tones, I dialed them in as P-locks i believe, because the LFO's do so much heavy lifting on the elektron devices, part of my workflow is to set up the lfo's without depth most of the time and dial it in per step

  • @soffter

    @soffter

    2 жыл бұрын

    Ah yeah actually, you have to hold FUNC if you're not using an external midi controller, it makes it a lil more clumsy but! if you can get the flow down it still works hold track n func to pull up the keyboard i believe if you want to punch in the scaled notes.
