Did you think this apartment was in your village? lol we are Paris and especially on the island of saint-louis! it is on average 16,000 € per square meter ... yes! in such perfect condition, do the math.

I love the building it has so much character. And I love the staircase. Wish that was mine. Would love to live in France, such a romantic place

Others have been commenting on the open stairs over the kitchen sink. I agree. But open stairs are a 'no no' anyway! Open stairs (and stairs with no railings) are a safety hazard! A person could slip and their leg would go through. Railings prevent people from accidentally falling over and they provide security for the disabled. Whoever designed this didn't think of kids, seniors, those with disabilities, and people's pets!

Seniors and kids do not belong in such an apartment in the first place and perhaps a pet like a monkey might find this amusing but this place to me says "utter boredom and dubious taste".

They dont make railing because it will saw as partition for whole, therefore this small apartment look smaller.

An apartment in the attic (no elevator), a bedroom in a corridor and the kitchen under the stairs...

The lesser nobility at Versailles lived in the same kind of space. The dining table is totally in the wrong place. You could put a piano there in the space, if it wouldn't bother the neighbors. I would put a credenza at the entrance to throw your keys and mail onto with a mirror above it to check yourself right before leaving.

It’s tiny but it’s Paris so like NYC an apartment this size would cost quite a bit! People forget that while they have no pennies in pocket to afford it, others do and would love to spend time in the heart of Paris❤️

Not sure about the staircase though

Love the building and the foyer but the apartment has, sadly, been stripped of its charm.

Elegant, absolutely not. First impression felt like I was in a common breakfast room at a hotel. This apartment is sterile, with beds jammed at the end of hallways, and not an ounce of Parisian personality.

Stunning. Can’t believe people find anything to criticize.

Love it.....very different and great layout!! Thank you....

Almost every ounce of character has been stripped out. What a shame. Pass.

Chambre de bonnes réaménagé, une porte d’entrée en carton, avec un hall d’immeuble absolument quelconque et un intérieur plus ou moins design fait en matériaux pas de la plus haute qualité. Qui se vend au prix d’un appartement de luxe? Franchement.

Chambre claustrophobe , le bas n'est pas trop mal mais le haut bas de plafond avec chambre claustrophobe, non merci.

The best thing was the view out over the courtyard, nothing else appealed to me.

I love the simplicity. Very cozy.

I will take that apartment in a heart beat. Lovely neighbourhood, beautiful building and a very charming place.

Actually I find it quite beautiful. Also, sure there are many different concepts, such as the question of the stairs. But why does everyone forget about the caracteristhics of such an old building? It is the basics of what you can make out of the space.

OK this apartment is absolutely nothing to brag about

Why is everyone so pissed in this comment section? Haven't you seen apartments in Europe?! This is a standard one. And I'm an artist who loves color, I would just come with my personal touch as much as it is permitted. But the apartment is absolutely lovely and it has really everything it needs. Even the view is lovely. Why are people so fussy about? I've seen Soo much more worse at high prices.

the entrance reminded me of the movie "Gigi", where Mamita and Gigi lived. Too many steps. Very spartan.

It was so pretty outside. I was so underwhelmed by the inside though. Disappointing...

I like how they incorporated a fireplace. In my opinion, this is all designed very well with some very nice design element extras and makes great use of the space. I like the furniture as well, the kitchen, the bathrooms, I even think the stairs are awesome, designed very well, and nobody is walking with street shoes up those stairs. People must have very dirty feet to be scared of putting dirt in their food by walking those stairs.

This is, of course, where the maids would sleep... The apartment that counts is on the street...

The wooden supports are probably original. They are roof beams - together with the foundation and walls, the roof beams keep a building from falling down.

Tragic. 1.2MEuros provide a fully furnished IKEA interior with questionably comfortable seating for 3 people, one bedroom with a tiny bedroom smashed against the wall and floor space dominated by oversized beams, and a second bedroom with a mattress on the floor. Beyond that, the IKEA kitchen is rendered useless by the overhead stairway which allows dirt and dust to fall through the open stairs onto your counters and stove. Fire the designer and the stager, and restore the original character to this unfortunate boring box.

J'ai acheté une maison qui n'avait qu'un an et demie ,très belle et surtout très chère pour le temp et dans laquelle je n'ai vraiment jamais été heureuse ,donc je l'ai vendu sans aucun regret à perte

You want elevator, you go to a new-built high rise. This is a 17th century building - you can't just shove an elevator in there.

it probably could be, but the location makes it expensive. Im guessing if you have money to buy it, you have it for rearrangement and redecoration

Super les odeurs de cuisine dans la chambre via les escaliers au-dessus. C'est petit ( la chambre parentale quelle horreur!! ) j'en deviens claustrophobe à simplement regarder. Et surtout y'a pas d'ascenseur... on s'en fout que les escalier soient d'époque quand on a pleins de courses à monter +bébé par exemple.

Un escalier donnant sur la cuisinière...une jolie façon d'agrémenter votre repas des petits déchets de vos semelles, si jamais vous avez besoin de monter pendant que vous préparez de quoi manger. Quel genre d'architecte aurait cette idée de génie? Et ben, sûrement le genre à créer un bureau encastré dans le mur, de façon à ce qu'on ne puisse même pas appuyer les coudes sur le plan. Pour moi cette fois c'est carrément non.

Oh, but worth it on Ile St Louis. Not expensive by San Francisco standards!
