Electrostatic Induction - The Gold Leaf Electroscope Experiment

Electrostatic induction occurs when a charged object (positive or negative) gets close to another object.
If the charged object - in this case a polythene rod - is negatively charged, then it will repel electrons away from the surface of a metal cap that it gets close to.
This flashcard tutorial explains this process, called electrostatic induction.
