Do you make a "Black Box" that would work on an American Security ELS5 safe/electric combo?

Is Safe a good description of the product?

So it's looks like that safe doesn't have the 3 tries 5 minuite lockout (bad design). Either that or the four connectors also double as the EPROM chip programming lines (which would be a bad design too). The reason why the manufacturer's bypass code still works is because that's on s non-programmable portion of the program chip (or it's on a seperate isolated chip). So, what I take from this video is, Don't rely on this type of safe to store high value items. You need a safe with two locking mechanisms for that, 1 mechanical and 1 electronic (or both mechanical).

Not only this, but all of the electronic version locks are easily opening by simple way. So, buy electronic version with manual keys format is better. Try this.

I disagree. They are great for fire protection for documents. just don't rely on them as a safe for items you are concerned about being stolen and as with any fire safe put things that would be damaged by moisture in ziplocked bags with a desiccant.

Paco Guerra Error of death. Change the batteries if that doesn’t work call a Local Locksmith to open. No parts are available, it is a disposable safe.

Sounds like one line on the circuit behind the keypad is broken (electronics term is 'open'). This can happen over time if the line is thin, through metal fatigue from flexing caused by pressing buttons on the keypad, or a manufacturing quality control fault. You need a new keypad, not the whole front panel, just the keypad part. (Probably about $10 online). ...if your safe is still under manufacturer's guarantee, you should be able to get a free replacement (to save them the expense of shipping the safe to them and back to you)

@@24hrMrLocksmith that seems like something a criminal could do. But of course there are so many types. They would need so many stuff to take with them. But it sends a coded signal inside? The code you type can be anything. This seems so weird. Normally I would think they have the keypad outside and the chip that checks the code inside. This must be some backdoor protocol.

Seems like a lot of trouble, considering all sentry safes can be opened with a magnet.

Brian brooks The Problem with using a rare Earth Magnet to open the safe is you still may not have the code. Most times the Dumb Box will open the safe and add a new code so they safe is still useable.

Some good ones are: ASSA, Mul-T-Lock, Medeco, BEST. American has some good padlocks. I'm not a locksmith, but maybe if nobody else replies, then I have told you the names of some good brands. If your only choice is Schlage and Kwikset, go with Schlage.

Manny Perez For your doors, get some commercial grade ASSA or Medeco,. Even Schlage has some commercial ones. For safes, S&G or german Lebtig (formerly known as Kromer) 4-disc mechanical combination locks are a good choice. Look for 'manipulation protection'. Electronic safe locks? Paxos with dial or Kaba Mas X-09. Padlocks: Abloy with Protec2 core. Sorry, but everything mentioned has a rather hefty price tag on it.

The obvious solution is not to buy this safe as it isn't a safe or safe as a safe should be.... these kind of bypasses should never exists on a safe, even it if its a fire-safe or not, i would never buy something like this so i think the video is great as a anti-commercial.

Walter Any safe can be opened, some just easier than others! Your average crackhead usually just relies on brute force attacks not locksmith techniques!
