    Hi, great vid, do you think it would matter if the drive came in via the pulley instead of the shaft? I'm thinking about taking a belt drive from an unused pulley on an engine to drive the pulley on the clutch assembly then using the shaft as a pto. Any thoughts?

    In short, yes, you can run the clutch either way so long as the magnet is held fixed. It doesn’t matter if you clutch the rotor on from the hub/pulley or clutch the hub/pulley on from the rotor. Contact us if you have questions or want to learn how our products can fit into your application. Thanks for your question! - Jake

    So, its similar in mechanism as a car cluth, except, its operated by electromagnet. Also, it implies that if we put less than required voltage in the coil, causing the cluth to slip, it will overheat quickly.

    Is it possible to apply a small voltage so that the armature can slip on the fixed plate? It means no total engagement between those components.

    Lmao. Geniuses think alike. I too started researching clutches after thinking about how good it'd be to have a manual disconnect for an electric skateboard. I think electromagnetic clutch is probably the way to go about this but this seems overkill for the application.

    Are there friction plates?

  • @KEBAmerica

    @KEBAmerica

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes, our most common style of clutch is a friction clutch. The “friction plate” would be the armature. The armature actuates axially over a small air gap to engage or disengage the clutch. More information on our website here: www.kebamerica.com/products/electromagnetic-clutch/

    Mechanical is simply but the driver circuit always make it headache. It can't operate fast cycle enough from the magnetic circuit delay hysteresis. So that servo motor has replaced it.

    @@Noadvantage246 It's commonly used in motion and sudden stop by actuating electric current to the clutch. Normally they have its duo on another shaft end, it is magnetic brake. When one want to engage the shaft in motion they send current to clutch and disengage brake. And when stop periods comes , they disengage clutch(by stop current) and engage brake simultaneously . Say it easy is they are quite seen in intermitten motion mechanism.
