It takes a certain level of virtuosity to make one instrument sound exactly like another. This guy is wayyyyy beyond that.

I think Ray Manzarek would approve that brilliant interpretation of "light my fire" 🔥🔥🔥

According to Wiki, Bill was one of the principle designers of the C9 pedal (also B9/Key9/Mel9/Synth9/Bass9), so hopefully is suitably rewarded.

It is an amazing specialty pedal... But I am not fooled.... You are an extremely good player and the material you are playing is making that thing shine WAY more than most of us could.

Kudos to Bill Ruppert, the guitar player here. Outstanding job figuring out all those changes on a bunch of classic tunes. Great sounding gizmo too !!

I got my first Electro-Harmonix pedal in 1982 (1970s Small Stone for $30). This is by far the best EHX demo I've ever seen in store, online, or anywhere else. Fabulous playing!

Simply amazing playing by Bill Ruppert. It is not easy playing a guitar and making it sound like an organ, even with a fabulous pedal like this or the B9. You have to completely restructure your chords and melodies. Impressive.

My wife and son gave me one of these for Christmas. I'm having a ball with it. It really sounds this good, just like the demo. It's amazing!

mehabox anything can "work" although I am not sure why you would need one as an organ's sound is made up of upper and lower octaves.

Bought one today, played with it in Guitar Center for about 15 minutes before dropping the $230 down to own it, it sounded so bad ass that a small crowd had gathered around me wondering what the hell I was using. The Deep Purple, Beatles, Doors and Led Zeppelin tones are dead on! Great for clearly played notes and chords., not for shredding on lead solos or punk and thrasher metal.

Mine broke after a few years. Sent it to EHX with a $25 check. A week later it came back in working order. No problems.

Amazing pedals but...What a player!!!! I'm sure this product is made all the better by being in such capable hands.

Where was this stuff back in the 60's 70's 80's 90's and the first ten years of the 2000's ?!?!? It's so awesome I can't get over this and the B9 units!!!

I just ordered my C9. Now comes the long, wonderful process of learning how to make it sound like this! ❤

@@Toxodeth1984 I have one and it's fun to play around with. I've also made a playlist of songs that have the organ sound (aside from the examples in this video). The idea is to finger the chords like an organ player would.

This pedal is my secret weapon for my clean sounds. I have it on the Mello Flutes setting w/ the organ mix around 9-10 o'clock in front of a reverb and when it rings out you hear the organ swell in. It's so magical

That third sound --- like a Farfisa or a Vox --- would be good for a guitarist who always envied Ray Manzarek of The Doors. He died at the age of 74 in 2013, I think.

This guy is worth the money. Brillant! Give him a raise.

8 years old and this video still gets comments...just shows how great the demo is! I picked up the C9 a few weeks ago after watching this video. Long, long way to go before I sound like Bill Ruppert.

Played this recently with a cover band, first time I've ever had the perfect organ tones I needed.

Just ordered this for my Dad for Christmas from Sweetwater. His Mother played the organ, so I hope this will evoke some memories and inspire him to create some new music!! If he doesn't like it I'll gladly take it! Haha. Looks like tons of creative fun

Wow! things have come a long way since I had my first EHX effect in 1972 - the LPB-1, with the male plug sticking out one end. Excellent demo!

This thing really nails all those 60s organ sounds I've always loved (Doors, Animals, Strawberry Alarm Clock, etc...). Think I have to have it!!

I've had mine now for about a year. I use it at every gig. Absolutely love this pedal.

the Mellotron sound is incredible! I saw that he plays guitar as he would play organ,that needs to be a very good guitarist to use it totally (very probably),playing accords and melodies in the same time.This demonstrator is a god when he plays.very strong!

Bill makes every EHX pedal sound incredible, the perfect guy to play anything needed!

EHX was really clever with the puns they used for some of the names of the sounds. 'Lord Purple' is a nice nod to Jon's epic Hammond tone with the Purple. Blimp... Led Zeppelin perhaps? Well, I loved JPJ's organ sound on 'Your Time Is Gonna Come' so that one is cool. The name for the church organ sound in 'Let It Be' threw me a little. The EHX demo video shows a photo of Beatles Paul seated at an organ. I thought that was funny since Billy Preston played that session. Then it hit me... Preston? Press Tone! BRILLIANT. So, am I the first person to get this clever pun?

You must be right about Press Tone but John is the one at the keys but it is not an organ it was a mellotron that he and I think Paul both played.

This demo was done almost 5 years ago, but what a great demonstration! Just perfect song fragments to demo the presets. I like your fat Strat frets too.

Definitely up there with the coolest pedals - song choices on point too!

the mello flute option was very calm and cute. such a nice sound to listen to!

I fancy myself as EHX's biggest fan. They build stuff that is so much fun to play with yet, this stuff can be a life saver. If your keyboard player doesn't show up, you can get by for an intro or as another layer in the mix. The fact that they keep the prices competitive in a greedy world speaks volumes about them.

HOLY CRAP that "Lord Purple" setting is AMAZING! OMFG YES!!!! I'm hearing Steven Stills level tones!
