Great work as always, love watching you chaps. I came off my tools on the 16th edition regs, so much has changed since then...
Same with screwing straight into that kind of block 👌🏼 I actually love when I get a wall like that
Best wishes to Oscar, hope he gets back together with the Artisan Team
Cory is amazing for comical value in all these videos, and bloody good at his job !!
Been binge watching the channel for abit and been nice to see someone younger stepping into the field, Sad to see him go. Currently in a 1 year course where i'd end up being an apprentice for some parts so seeing someone step into it aswell is really nice, Stepping into a field with older men having years of experience is kind of intimidating honestly.
Brilliant one ! Nice to see you guys back together for a few jobs

Cory doesn’t look convinced at the start 😂
Great job and drilling in particular! It is great to see you do your thing again. Your strength really is the quality craftsmanship. Have to say your company name is spot on. Be careful out there with the expanding business, scaling craftsmanship is tough! Thanks for the video.
poor oscar will never know how good he had it
Nicest apprentice on KZread will be sadly missed, all the best
My best to Oscar. Hope everything turns out well for him and you can get him back . In the meantime, you have a brilliant fellow in Cory working with you. It's nice to you and Cory working together. You complement each other. And besides that, he is brilliant with his comic relief. I really enjoy his humor....... and his excellent craftsmanship. I would not be surprised if Artisan Electrics is considered the best. Jordan, please keep the youtube videos coming. What you and Cory do is a little over my head, but i can't get enough of your videos. I enjoy every one of them. I am learning a lot about electric wiring. Thanks
First time catching one of your videos, I enjoyed the humour and installation of smart google products. 😁
If you use a bit of silicone a couple of times a week and don't want it to go hard, the solution I discovered was nozzles with screw on caps, Screwfix part 6830X
@peter-gn8ey
3 жыл бұрын
I've never had great luck with those. I usually have one or two disposable gloves in the toolbag that I keep to cut the fingers off of; if I have a tube that I want to keep, I'll take the nozzle off, put a finger strip over the tip and screw another clogged nozzle back on (although I do also have some 3d printed caps just for this). can keep silicone/adhesives/caulks usable for a long time if you get a good enough seal.
Hi so can the nest protect smoke and C02 alarm be placed in the kitchen or do nest do one for a kitchen area. Thanks
Definitely need a short from Cory about that silicone trick 👍

Excuse me Jordan, but right at the beginning of you video my dining room speaker piped up and started playing the old Frank Sinatra song "Give me another cup of coffee". So after yelling out "Hey Google stop". We were able to get get the video going again. No I'm not trying for a second viewing!😂😂😂.

How did you fix the transformer in the back box mate? Bit of din rail?
Hopefully Oscar didnt feel the need to leave, due to internet bullying, like some young people are exposed to, best wishes to him in on his future workplace apprenticeship, it was good to see a lad being trained, by such competent and funny tradesmen.

I'm curious if the technique used to wire the doorbell is needed for wiring in a nest thermostat? I want to install a nest thermostat, but I don't have a preexisting wired thermostat, so i wanted to some how take power from a near by wall socket and run that wire to power the new thermostat. Would this be possible?
Smug face warming up 😂😂😂
Awesome team! Jordan knew great measure the drill hole Good let Cory learn how to correctly measure the drill hole. Whew.. Perfect hole Also Oscar is a great film camera. Thumb up! Cheer!
Great video and tips - gave me a laugh too thanks guys 👍
What do you recommend for a ferrule crimping tool budget friendly kit as in electronics not electrical but would like to use them from time to time

What transformers do you guys use / recommend for the nest doorbell (in the UK)?
Brilliant video lads. Shame about Oscar Hope corys not leaving that lad is a legend!
Referring to 22 minutes in, Cory fitting the nest smokes, I’ve always just made a small hole to pull the cables through above the mounts for such devices. So much nicer to have the backbox there. Will do that in future.
25:00 Cory 100% had his fingers crossed behind his back
I loved Oscar's smile... He was a top dude. All the best with whatever crap you are dealing with mate.
Did you install an actual chime as well or was that doorbell press at the end from the Google mini?
Amazing job. Thanks for sharing these very useful videos. It gives me more confidence to want to move forward with setting up my electrician business. Thanks.

Once again perfectly explained and demonstrated.
so sorry for oscar you looked after him so well and he was a young guy but it is sad hope you got it all sorted and please come back as you will learn so much from Artisan and its years from now you will see that
Just saw the rest of the video, sad news about Oscar (Good Lad) he was learning well. All the best for the future Oscar. Stay safe guys. Pete 👍
Did you mount the transformer on a rail ? Away from the sides of metal enclosure?
Is the transformer just sitting loose in a backbox or did you mount it somehow?

Sad to here that Oscar has left, he and Cory made a good team, hopefully he will do well in the future.
What model SDS drill u using?
Think Oscar got pumped 😂
The other elephant in the room is the heat alarm aspect, which you only mention in passing. The big problem with Nest has always been no heat alarm. Even their own technical support suggested I buy a different product when I asked about it. That was maybe a couple of years ago & of course the norm is no smoke alarms in kitchens. Has this all been addressed by Nest now?
The lunch break 😂🤣

You should have gone on the Virgin Media hole drilling course as they seem to teach their installers to use an oversized SDS drill bit and put all of their bodyweight behind the drill and use it from inside the property so it comes out the outside like a Dumb Dumb bullet and busts all the brick face out ... Job Done!
Wish you were around when I attempted the slanted drilling for my nest hello. Let’s just say it didn’t turn out quite as well 🤦🏼
What about flour weevils in the bread roll is that Vegan friendly?
Always do your back box moveable lug on the same side as the other socket it’s next (if there is one next to it that is) Makes it easier to level the 2 sockets to each other
'Take the Caroline Flack' jeeeez🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Keep safe Oscar, hope to see you back soon!
Good insight, cheers 👍
Best wishes to Oscar - certainly a lad with a lot of potential in the industry!
Is it true, that squirting expanding foam around electrical wires to stop them from moving is bad? I was told by a Germany sparky that the chemical in the expanding foam dries out the wire sheath causing it to become brittle and crack.
Smug face activated 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
How does nest protect get on in the kitchen ?

You guys need to start drilling in the southern Indian Ocean, a place where no man has ever been. A place full of intreague and mysteries. Great job as always.
Is it expensive running central heating all the time? I am in Australia, not a common thing here lol
Nice Another well thought out job . Good luck to Oscar for the future He will get snapped up when he is ready

ohh dear! come back soon oscar! cant replace the young chap, he was bril! oscar... if your out there, please come back if you can! we will miss you mate! nice job there! 😊 cory, your apprentice has a thing for cupboards... i would worry! 😂😂😂
oooh Oscar, all the best to you mate!
11:10 perfect angles again 😎
Why did you use stranded wire instead of solid core?
Hi Jordan, Silverline do set of three sds masonry bits 1.5m long (12,16 and 24mm) CEF can supply them. You can start with a 1m bit to get your angle just right then follow through with the longer bit. Actually quite good quality for the price, drilled a good number of holes with this system and still going strong. If you want the ultimate extra long masonry bit, contact Hilti they will make you a bit any size (but will have to be sitting down when they give you the price!) Great videos, keep up the good work, stay safe guys. Pete 👍
