Guess who's backkkk! 😍
Life saver. Was messing around for hours and figured out it was not breaking the tabs that did the job.

Thanks so much
Thank you!!
Use a #1 ECX bit and you won't strip the screw head! As a QA, I see stripped screw heads all the time because trim guys want to use Philips for everything.
My switched receptacle only has one white, one red, and one ground. Will this work on that type of wiring?

doesnt sound like it, if you want only half of it switched.
Why is it that the switches don't work on two of my receptacles in same room? I am not getting any power to them at all so it would have to be a wire from the receptacles that must be on wrong terminal screw wouldn't you say that's why the switches are dead? All I did was replaced out the old switches & recepticales to more modern ones I broke out the tabs on both recepticales but again no power to the switches, one recepeticle has full power top & bottom the other recepticle in same room only half has power nonetheless there has to be some wire that's not in the right place to feed to the switches I guess is that what it could be?
Thanks bro
I did 3 of these the other day. But someone else had installed them and didn't break the bridge and on one of them the switch was all scorched I'm guessing because it was getting hit by 240 when it was on lol two separate circuits meeting at that switch and at the outlet
That tab messed me up in trouble shooting earlier today in school

And breaking the bridge on decora receptacles is tuff
For the new to the trade guys, learn something every day. What or how do you do to ensure power is off? What order do I connect the wires and is it importsnt? Can I cut the tab(s) and use 2 different breakers to supply the now 2 seperate receptacles on that same yoke? Can I use an ohmn meter to figure out what cable in a box goes back to the panel? How? If the receptacle has these voltages, will a lamp work, is it safe to work on.... Hot - ground....120vac Neutral - ground....120vac Hot -neutral.....zero volts Remember that your BRAIN is your best tool and wear your SAFETY ATTITUDE on your sleeve.....you might need it at home.
