    Hi Kuji, Lithium battery fire is considered Class-D fire, the AFO fire balls are rated to stop fires of classes A, B, and C. It’ll help stop other flair ups but won’t put out a lithium batter fire. You’ll need a Class-D graded fire extinguisher. I personally run RC cars and uses sand filled ziplock bags on top of the batteries inside a fire safe/lithium battery safe storage unit. Lithium fire is no joke, and for something with a massive battery capacity.... it’s a bomb lol. Stay safe and take care! BYW. I got my MTen3!!!! It’s been riding great 👍🏻 Best regards, Joe

    Thanks for such great description about your euc storage rack. Every time since i saw it on a video a year ago i was considering about building my own, but there's now way for me to accomplish that. There are two reasons: 1. Array storage rack needs more space than a wheels standing near wall. Currenly i haven't got space in room for your variant 2. In Russia every experienced EUC owner has an mud collecting tray underneath wheel. That's important for every 3 of 4 year seasons because if you don't make that the wheel could create a big mess with dust and mud after winter or autmn ride... Your storage does not imply dirt collection. Also you haven't mentioned cable retraction mechanism showed in the video

    I totally get the niche market thing. Not many people have multiple EUCs. However, I will eventually be getting an off road one & I already have 2 regular unicycles sitting around that could easily rest in your unit. You should get a patent without the fire suppressor balls & put in the appropriate fire extinguisher mounted in the front middle of the unit. I could totally use one of these with 4 slots. 👍☮️🌞

    I have been thinking about this several times, rack and fire. Got remote fire alert sensors and fire blanket and ABC extinguisher (metal extinguishers are just SILLY expensive and if the fire gets on its such a fast fire i would probably not even have time to extinguish before it was to late, so its more a means to stop ither stuff from burning). Like the rack, only adaptation needed is that it needs to be raised from the ground by approximately 12cm so my robot vacuum csn get beneath and suck up all the dirt that falls of the wheels :-) (and dust rats that will accumulate unless one likes to vacuum manually)

  • @KaiSosceles
    @KaiSosceles4 жыл бұрын

    If you like the way the mten3 sits, you might consider lifting the metal frame off the ground a few inches. That way theyll all sit on the pedals instead of the tire. And you could built a little ramp up to it if lifting a few inches annoys you.

    Really interesting idea and a good looking end result. Not sure if those fire balls would work though - I think the lithium battery fires produce their own oxygen so my guess is they'd just reignite. Another worry is the fire balls do explode with quite a bang, having them next to each other would mean they'd all go off! This wold obviously make amazing video footage but would probably mean you'd loose your hearing and all the windows in your apartment :) I'm only guessing though and I'm just a teeny little bit jealous of all the wheels.

    Thanks for the video Kuji. I enjoyed it, as always. A couple of questions. With so many wheels, don't you just find yourself taking your latest favourites for rides and the older less exciting wheels stay sitting collecting dust? If so, why not sell them? Secondly, how many years have you been riding and how many KM would you say that you have done in total?

  • @KujiRolls

    @KujiRolls

    Would placing two lengths of timber under and at right angles to the long aluminium rails to lift them higher off the ground work? Then widen the gaps between the shorter rails so the EUC pedals rest on them, instead of trying to wedge the tyre between them. The EUC wheels would then be suspended off the ground, and not tip forwards/backwards/sideways.

Just one unrelated question: I saw at the beginning of the video a Tesla, then disappeared in the end. You sold it? Why? Don’t you think by comparison that is better than V10f? Also MCM5 v2 isn’t better than, I think your V8 there on the rack? Have you tried it? Thanx man.

    Kuji Rolls Thank you for replying, Kuji. Just trying to decide for myself what to buy for my needs: around 50 km range (I’m 70kg) and fast acceleration/braking, not too heavy. I would like V8f, but doesn’t have the range. I tried V10f, didn’t like the flat pedals being used with my angled V5f pedals. Also seemed lazy (acceleration) compared to MCM5 and Tesla, which I liked the most when trying. I don’t know if MCM5 (800Wh) could do 50km range for me, so I remain with Tesla, which unfortunately doesn’t have a stop light to be legal. I have to find a solution. Seeing your Inmotion wheels and no Tesla I thought maybe you consider them more reliable then Tesla/MCM5 (for sure they are better for rain). Anyway I will not press you for a straight answer knowing that you test wheels from all companies and cannot publicly favor one against another. Thank you again for replying. All the best!

    This video freaked me TF out! Now Ive been in deep firestate study. hears my learning: 1. Those fireballs arnt going to protect you if the wheel goes up. Why? cascading heat propagation from the reaction will fry ALL the batteries because you wont handle it whilst it goes up.. no way. 2. What is worse is that the wheels are close together.. this will accelerate the propagation should the next wheels batteries suffer from the heat soak of the first fire.. 3. the wood behind the wheels? torch paper... the wooden shelving? like lint to a spark .. all will be gonebecause a Li-Ion battery burn is as good as done once it starts.. itll burn out till the end. As such the best way to control it is with a volume extinguisher to cool the fire and not let other batteries (basically wheels) suffer the same fate. because the batteries are so tighly packed if one goes they are all going. Safest place in a house? The balcony next up.. in the house... the bathroom. esp if floor tiled and walls tiled... the actual batth seems the best.. but NOT Plastic baths! Dude.. this video has freaked me TF out... I have checked my insurance today... paid it off completely for the year.. but will boost it.... Next up fire blanket and extinguisher for sure... PS. Did I tell you this video has freaked me TF out?

But on the balcony, there can be wet. In winter, there can be cold. What are the weather limits of charging EUCs outside? This Balls and whats in them (the powder) is only suitable for fires of class A,B,C. Unfortunatly metall and Lithium fires are class D fire....so the powder doesnt help at all here. Sorry

    The balls will help keep the fire from spreading thus giving him much more time to react than without them. I hope he has additional smoke alarms though.
