@Republicansaretraitors Totheusa the electric stuff is great and serves its purpose when needed. But it’s just not there yet for service in bigger stuff like this. Don’t get me wrong I love not having an air hose to kink and trip over. Plus as stated above, the electric impacts offer great breakaway torque. Final “return truck to service torque”(especially lugs) are generally or supposed to be run in with an impact and then hit with a clicker or beeper wrench

I have that same exact Milwaukee and he had it on lug nut mode. It shuts it down before 450 ft lbs so you can torque it afterwards. You can customize drive modes and I spent a lot of time getting mine spot on at 500 for both dry and lubed studs. (2 different modes) and then number 3 is full bore which would way over tighten it. All that being said, it still doesn't have the brute strength of a good 1" air gun and is why I still use both.

You'll go through 3 of those electric impacts by the time the air impact needs a rebuild. That's the beauty of air, simplicity. With that said, electric tools are great in their own right and have their place. Just not as a permanent shop fixture.

I've been using my milwalkee 1 inch gun for over a year. Lug nut mode pull it till it stops then pull it again till it stops on each lug nut leaves it about 475lbs. I pull it out of my box, add a battery, when I'm done I put it back in my box. Saves time and effort.

Im a diesel tech myself. Many of us techs prefer air or electric for this type of work. If I use an electric tool, it's more so for getting something done quickly. I have seen other techs use electric tools and next thing you know, the part they used that electric tool on start coming apart due to not being tight, but it doesn't need a torque. Those batteries are okay but mainly for quick jobs in my opinion.

I use the Milwaukee version every day at work. I service a fleet of school buses. Go behind with a torque wrench to get to 450ft lbs and it’s never let me down. Also the electric gun is better for road calls. I don’t have to have a rig with a compressor on it. Just a big pry bar a pump jack electric impact and a spare tire. It’s great.

I've been doing road service for over a decade. I usually only use my air to air up a trailer. I have that milwaukee gun and will never get rid of it. I only ever have to break out my air tore gun when super mechanics like herculese here don't torque them down properly. I set my setting 3 on one key to be right at 500 ftlb and works perfect.

A lot of people misunderstand the whole idea. Air impact wrench just hammers the nuts which isn't appropriate. But the torque impact wrench as the one shown give the right amount of torque which is around 450-500 for those truck's Tyres, the air impact wrench just over torqued the fasteners which is dangerous. So electric/battery torque impact wrench is the best option at the shop and on the road as well.
