Electric Potato Peeler: was it any good, judge for yourself?
NB: viewer discretion is required in watching this video as it contains swearing due us becoming frustrated and vexed while using the potato peeler.
We bought this labour-saving potato peeler thinking it would be a good idea. Following the instructions we loaded the potatoes and water and switched on and after a number of goes while checking in between, there was skin still remaining on them. We even halved the load and doubled the estimated stated time required to get them peeled i.e. from 3-4 minutes to 7-8 minutes, but this still didn’t remove all the skins, far from in in fact.

I was about to order one of these. Glad I watched your video first 👍well done 👏
I saw one of these made back in the very early 1900s, unfortunately defunct, so the IDEA has been around a long time. Makes me wonder if it's just a problem with this model or if they ever really worked at all.

Thanks for the comment @brt5273 and I love that you saw one back in the early 1900s and are still around to tell the tale! My friend in the video had a hand operated 'rumbler' which worked brilliantly compared to this machine, she also owned 2 chip shops way back in the day and they each had massive professional rumbling machines, so I guess they can work and no wonder she got a tad vexed with this particular model. All was well after a cuppa and a few deep breaths though I'm glad to say 👍😉
Do not cut them in half the machine works by rolling the potatoes over the blade, by cutting the spuds in half they will just bounce around.
