Electric Lake Will Shock You! | Fishing for Tiger Trout & Yellowstone Cutthroat
After placing 1st in a Marathon and 1st in a Half Marathon as well, the boys head to a new reservoir that has never before been explored for some casual monster trout shore fishing. S/O to our boy Marty for visiting and teaching us how to catch some sweet Cutty's. We caught some absolutely beautiful Tiger Trout on a Leech pattern streamer under a bobber on the fly rod. We also caught some sweet Cutthroat Trout on ol' reliable tube jigs on a nice slow retrieve, on cast masters, and on a Kutty patterned spoon.
The weather was chilly as the boys threw on the winter jackets and even snow pants as we piled on the layers. This was a week full of rain and snow (which we definitely needed). The mountains were powdered in gnar gnar as the leaves changed. Some reservoirs up there were already frozen or on their way, which gets us pumped up for Ice Fishing season. Make sure to stay tuned for that and to see the boys ski and even snowboard the sweet powder this winter.
Electric Lake in Castle County, Utah is located off of the Huntingtion/Eccles Canyon National Scenic Byway in the Manti-La Sal National Forest. These waters are home to non-native Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout as well as Kokanee Salmon, Bonneville Cutthroat, Tiger Trout, and Rainbow Trout. Nearby Reservoirs include Huntington and Cleveland Reservoirs and it seemed to be a popular hunting areas as well.

😂 that net was a struggle and needs to be replaced, the duct tape didn’t quite do the job…

The lake was very low, like a lot of them are these days. Hopefully we have a good winter and all this snow helps out

E-lake is a favorite. Was up there a couple weeks ago, scary how low it is. Good to see some size coming back.

Like others have mentioned, that lake looks really low... should concentrate the fish... nice color patterns.

Try jigging a tube jig off the bottom, or on the fly put a streamer below a bobber and slowly twitch it in
Nice fish but those are NOT Yellowstone cutts. Most likely Colorado River Cutthroat.
