@@bebo2629 It was alright imo. I feel like the court of Bedlam wasn't fleshed out enough as villains. I still could not entirely tell you what they hoped to accomplish. Every member uses vague terms like "Using the tower to make a better world." I wish they had been more akin to the New moon cult where their motives and drive were entirely clear.

@@feelcollins4358 I got that. I more just mean the originally intended goal. All three deadra had every intention of betraying one another from the start but Nocturnal was the only one who had a clear motive and end goal. That being access to every realm via the crystal tower. Clavicus? No clue. Barbas could have waxed Vivec at his weakest and just didn't, so that wasn't the goal. He technically accessed the clockwork city but Vile wasn't even a part of hat plan. Barbas went ahead on his own. Mephala? I have even less of a clue what she wanted out of the alliance. If her goal was an audience with Sil, she got it I guess. If it was literally anything except that, it's never stated.

I will always be able to hear Molag Bal, the *real* one, saying "Weak! He's weak! You're strong. Kill him."

It's also interesting to compare the voices in different languages. For a majority of my time I played in eso in german before switching to english. The german voice acting overall isn't that good for this game and especially Molag Bal just sounds like some slightly angry middle aged dude that trys way to hard to sound menacing. This one isn't perfect, but the acting is way better, so at least it sounds more convincing, in my opinion.

For a bit of lore context : Meridia is one of the daedric princes, ruler of the life energies. She's as fickle as the other daedra, but is of a strangely different nature, as she is said to have once been an aedra (being of order, light and infinity) who was banished for transgressing their rule. She consequently has a strong connection to the elves and a deep hatred of the undead. This makes her one of the "good" daedra, relatively, but her morality is too foreign for mortal to comprehend, and she's not above dick-moves. Some think her ultimate goal is to rejoin the magna-ge, aedras who did not took part in the shaping of the world and exist in a state of stasis (pretty similar to the ultimate Thalmor goal). All in all, she's the best ambiguously evil waifu.

daedra are more powerful (can’t die, have their own plane of oblivion to themselves rather than having to share Mundus) than aedra though, so wouldn’t being “banished” from aedra to daedra be a powerful upgrade?

Let us say they are spirits.(For example Mehrunes Dagon is not one of the primoridal beings brought by Anu) Now the difference is Aedra tore a piece of themselves off to creat Nirn. But the Daedra created oblivion within themselves. So Aedra are not weaker, they are in pieces. But Meridida being an Aedra? I have never heard any such thing. But I know she is Molag's wife. I think Meridia was a Magni Gi but Molag captured and conquered her. Meridia is also called the rape bride as well.

Boethiah is the God of Plots and Molag Bal is the God of Schemes. Though they are synonymous, the difference between the two lies in their context. Boethiah's plots are less practiced by Boethiah himself and more like an expectation Boethiah has for his followers. He expects his followers to plot murders, assassination and coups. Molag Bal, on the other hand, schemes for centuries and then puts his meditated machinations into effect. Molag Bal schemes and Boethia demands plots.

I like how at least one of the divines, Akatosh, can force a daedric prince to experience agony and even defeat them both indirectly in the form of the empowering the Vestige and semi-directly via Martin Septim becoming his avatar for a short time. I think some people underestimate the Aedra almost as much as the daedric princes do. 🔥 🐉

This moment in the story was so poetic and bittersweet. I never chose Sai, i never found it fitting Varen was always my choice.

If the game was more like Skyrim in that regard while retaining most of its other features, then I would regard it as a splendid game. I can't play it for that sole reason.

Weak? Well. It was Not all Aedras stand together and use him Like a puppet. No. Meridia explain you that to the end what happens. The Amulet was full of Aedra Energy. In the ritual they need the Soul as a Key to get this Energy. The Aedras didnt do anything they only watch and Open the Amulet when they got the Soul. Aedras are more weaker than Daedras. Aedras lost their great Power for Nirn. Aedras can die... But Daedras cant die cause they didnt create anything. Meridia can also Not die. Ofc she was together with the Other Aedras but she didnt put her Power in Nirn. She didnt lost anything.

Daedra are extremely powerful in their own realm -the power of the divines absolutely shitted on molag bal IN HIS OWN REALM. Meridia could barely hold him, and the divines destroyed him. So their power is multiple times stronger than one of the most powerful daedric princes. This means the divines are much more powerful than atleast a couple of daedra together. -the divines couldn't do that in Meridia's realm, because she's much more powerful and her realm is more secure. Hinting that molag bal isn't that powerful. -Molag Bal has terrible control over his own realm, so much that he didn't even notice that a freaking daedric prince has infiltrated his realm, personally. -the divines have received thousands of years of mortal worship throughout this kalpa and the previous ones. Worship = Power. They're much more capable than people think. -we don't even know how much of the aedra's energy was in the amulet. For all we know, it could possibly not be their full power. I actually believe its most likely that it was either a fraction of their power or the soul of previous emperors. This makes molag bal look extremely weak.

Daedra cant die whatsoever and the Molag Bal you fight is extremely weakened by expending power to reconstruct his avatar an agonizingly painful process and requires the help of meridia and divine power and still even then Meridia has to save you from Molag Bal straight killing you when your power up fades.

How were you surprised? ESO takes place centuries before Skyrim and in Skyrim Molag orders you to kidnapp and torture a priest of an enemy Daedra in his shrine in exchange of his cool mace lmao. Daddric lords cannot be killed.

I know that I’m really late to your question here but if you have yet to figure it out, you have to go to the coldharbour zone and complete the main story there. You should be directed to find an Aylied king that’s held captive by molar bal to the west and finding the arch mage Vanus to the east and should continue from there. Hope that helps

I’m guessing based on the name that’s it’s supposed to be moloch Baal

And he's he's just gonna end up reconstituting himself some time in the future. Its a shame because if you think about it in the cosmic scheme of the elder scrolls series whenever you stop the one of the evil daedra lords, you just delay the inevitable. And we still have yet to see the one thing that can permanently kill them, let alone how we could actually manage to make it work.

You can kill a deadric prince by replacing them. The hero of kvatch mantled sheogorath and became sheogorath after sheogorath transformed into jygglag. Erasing sheogorath and making a new sheogirath

I could never get into Elder Scrolls Online. I've tried getting into it at least 4-5 times over the years. I guess I keep going in expecting it to be Elder Scrolls like past singleplayer titles. Instead, it's an MMORPG with an Elder Scrolls skin.

Absolutely not. Daedra cannot be destroyed for real. Just like Jyggalag in Oblivion, he will return. It did, however, extremely disperse and weaken his essence. I certainly took centuries before he was even able to answer a single prayer.

He just got his ass kicked, to him it was just a defeat.

I love how in both dagon and bal's fight,its never the players power that's used to defeat the prince but rather another equal force assisting you. It really gives the sense that without divine help both would have just smacked you around like a fly.

hmm, so Meridias gift is obsolete after One Tamriel Update since you can go anywhere anytime

Im stuck at level 10 just because Im pissed with my latency while playing this game.

Everybody plays in 3rd person with their camera zoomed all the way out. I play in first person or in third with the camera zoomed in as far as it'll go.

Defeat? No. Temporarily inconvenience, a being of infinite regenerative ability and, total power, over their sphere of influence, a plain of oblivion, in which they chose to have themselves perceived as defeated? Perhaps.

@@meshman4236 you cant kill them even at their own realm, the only way to do it is to replace the deadra like in oblivion, the hero of kvach becomes sheogorath to replace him

Some do, like the dremora, Azura, etc. I don't think Molag Bal's in that business though

Daedra is not a specific creature. Its more like e.g. "mammals" like we are.

What you saw looked like humans in Skyrim were dremoras. Daedra have many forms. Some looks like humans, some looks like animals.

Daedras are, in the end, just spirits of change and absence of limitation. They can change forms at will.
