That “dead end” is actually an illusionary wall so you don’t need to hop over with your mount found that out accidentally while killing the mages and one happened to be up against the wall

FYI, that dead end at Kingsrealm Ruins is a fake wall, hit it and it disappears. No need to risk your runes jumping over the cliff.

This is because the word gaol was borrowed from French during the Norman Conquest when a lot of Norman French words that had something to do with law, politics, and governance were introduced into English. The word jail came 300 years later, and, funnily enough, also came from the French. Parisian French, this time around. If you're not certain that this place is actually a jail, listen to what Blaidd says He mentions that a cell isn't justice enough. So yeah, definitely a jail.

You mean Sofria probably? Yeah, he's chilling down there until you talked to Seluvis who in turn sends you to Sellen with a letter. She's then telling you about Nokron, that Balidd wants to find to save Ranni's life. You have to go back to Sofria with the information gathered from Sellen and talk to Blaidd, then he'll want to fight Radahn with you and many more in the Redmane castle. It's kinda shit honestly. Nothing really pointed at that you'd have to meet him at Mistwood Ruins. Now he'll be unavailable as a summoning companion in other fights until you've beaten Radahn. It's shit but the only thing you could maybe do, if Radahn's still too strong, you could head north and try Lyndell castle with Godfrey but in my experience he's also a bit tough with level lower than 70. Radahn is just annoying af but at least you can summon the NPCs several times if they die again. It's just hard not to get hit while doing so. Good luck

5:18 The wall you're looking at is a fake wall. Hit it and it will disappear letting you just walk through. You didn't need to jump around lol

It's always cool seeing people discover staples of souls games. Having an NPC help you in fights related to his questline is one of my favorite parts of interactive storytelling by fromsoft

It actually makes me despair to find out just how many things and NPCs/ questlines I've missed on my first playthrough. I think in the future we'll need some kind of spreadsheet to wrap our heads around all of this and not miss any story bits.

Bro I know all the Souls fans get hard-ons for some of the lacking features from this game but a quest log to just show that you are on a quest wouldve been nice. Like it didnt need to have waypoints or tell me where to go but I wish I could check a menu to see that I had talked to Blaid and the last thing he asked me to do.

If you miss Blaidd entirely (or don't figure out how to bring him off the tower while he's howling), he'll leave the Mistwood Ruins. However, you'll meet him later on in the game (I won't spoil where, but it's a very big quest line that includes him and Iji, hard to miss). After you meet him, go to Iji and he'll have the talisman anyway, so you won't lose the chance of getting it even if you missed Blaidd early on.

If you already killed the guy hes looking for in the evergael before meeting Blaiid in mistwood via the finger snap gesture, go back to the evergael where you best the miniboss and he will already be there waiting.

If he doesnt show,do the snap emote at the ruins he should be at and he will appear,however he still thinks that the bloodhound is alive so you wont get the reward If you already beat him,just rest and go to the spot you killed him,he will be there and give the reward.

@@dylanhicks5073 so after you do that, you’ll go to the iji the giant blacksmith. You’ll tell him about blaidd and he will get you a talisman. You now what to go to caria manor which is straight ahead of from iji. When you complete the area, you’ll get up top to it and can find the witch rani there and join her. You will now be basically doing 2 quest, hers and blaidd. You’ll be sent to find him at Siofra River and he will tell you to talk to one of the people back at caria manor. You talk to them and they will give you a note to give to the glinstone lady you found after defeating the pumpkin head in limgrave. You’ll now how to go kill Radahn at Caelid with Blaidd and a start will come crashing down at limgrave outside of mistwoods. There’s a lot to talk about for it, if you want everything go to fextralife. It has all the steps

I accidentally agroed him when i was first there. The giant bear attacked me and then I dunno what happened. Next time he was just attacking me for being there so I just killed him.

@@infinitespinergy1220 if you wore any helmet that looked wolf like or if you wore a bloodhound weapon he will get agroed by just seeing you. Also a bit late but there is a place called the church of vows where you can go and repent your sins, making agroed npcs passive again

already see people mentioning the illusionary wall... but you can also skip Stormveil to get up there early in the game. From Stormhill shack just travel North and continue along the cliff side. This will bring you to the other side of Stormveil to the Lake-Facing Cliffs site of grace.

Its a channel based on interviewing the broken people of this world. Gets down to the reasoning why this place is so dark. I believe the talisman’s effect refers to using weapon’s ashes of war not sorceries. The footage of you using sorceries and explaining the talisman’s effect is a bit misleading.

There is a method to revive npc's at the church of vow. Atleast I believe thats what it does 🤔

The talisman you get from the mith doesn't work with your spells only skills on weapons. so do not waste the runes on it if you are going for straight spells.

1. Just so everyone knows you don’t have to fight Godrick to get to this area, you can go around by taking a dirt path off to the right from the road after passing by the shack. 2. At the ruins all you have to do is hit that wall in the middle, it’s a fake wall and it’ll disappear once you hit it

If you miss blaidds quest that sends you to lji you can actually still get that crest if you start Ranni's quest line. He'll open it up to you in his shop

i dont believe you need to do the whole quest line for this item, i killed the boss in evergaol without talking to blaidd and i have the item in iji’s shop ( cool quest though)

0:35 just a tip, the same merchant is near the ruins just a bit to the east and you can get the gesture to save some riding/walking if you want :D

You dont need to jump around the wall next to giant, it is illusory wall.

The Talisman doesnt help with spells, only with ashes of war and skills in weapons.

The thumbnail made me thought that blaidd had a unique kill animation at dariwil like blaidd biting dariwil

I was able to buy that talisman without doing the blaidd stuff prior, tho I did talk to Iji in full and saw it there when I came back after starting the Ranni quest line. Also that wall on the road right before him can be hit to go away.

This is my first time ever playing a game in this genre and I spent like an hour trying to beat Darrowill or whatever his name is. Couldn't do it as he was just way too fast for my lame prophet to handle so I left and figured I will come back when I've beaten a few bosses and figured out how to unlock new moves. This questline is also activated by following rogier’s quest and meeting The witch to become her decibel and meet her three followers aka these 2 npcs plus another not mentioned here

Just to note, you can get to the black smith by finding a teleport in the lake of raya lucaria without a pass as well

FYI if you hit the wall before the giant with your weapon it vanishes, (The wall that is not the weapon) then you can just walk right through, no need to jump across cliffs

Great video. I would say the giant’s accent is Welsh, and “Blaidd” in Welsh translates to wolf.

The talisman isn't specifically linked to the "Blaidd sent me" dialogue, at least exclusively. I got it by just going back to him and talking naturally, i missed the entire first quest bit. I think joining their little group (Ranni's) unlocks it as well. That dialogue just seems to unlock it slighty faster.

I remember seeing this guy in the trailers and I thought he was gonna be boss. Low key wish he was a boss cuz the thought of fighting a wolf man knight who hunts tarnished sounds so badass. It’s still cool to have him as a helpful npc though I still enjoy that

you get to see him again during Ranni's questline, actually! if you're still interested in him, head to Caria manor, beat the boss there, and start her quest in the Three Sisters area.

The giants mask reminds me of Quan from game of thrones. That's neat.

Something I noticed that is interesting is Blaidd has the Abyss Watcher run animation from DS3

So that wall right before the grace is actually an illusory wall. But hey, props for finding another way around man

This whole quest seems like a refernce to berserk. The black Swordsman hunts down a target and tells you to find the giant blacksmith who lives in a remote mountainous area(Godot). You can even see Guts 2nd greatsword behind the blacksmith which you can get later on.

At the Kingsrealm ruin, hit the wall.. wall dissapear.. Jumping using mount at the side also work..

To get to the giant that wall blocking you just before you can get to him if you hit it then a passage will open up . It’s a hidden path not necessary to go around .🤘

I didn't know that blaidd can help you in that boss fight, I already cleared the boss solo and when I see blaidd he always attack me I think that's the reason why I can't see the giant blacksmith.

After the mission where he gave you a somber stone in the beginning of his quest line I fast traveled as soon as he gave me the stone. He never gave me the mission to go see the big giant and now I can’t find him. I did see him in the castle but he just tells me to wait for the festival to begin

I did the evergoal way later, like after I'd cleared the second main boss. I think maybe blaidd might have been helpful in that fight, its hard to tell though cuz I killed him in four light attacks with my rapier lol

Heads up guys before you go here and if your low level like me (25) get the heal spell first not urgent heal but heal cus it’ll heal both you and the wolf man because even thoe he looks cool and he’s the one who wanted to kill the guy , he’s pretty weak ( maybe they match the npc with your skill idk ) but heal can be found at the round table by the guy who sells spells and it will will you and your Allies . I healed 2 times and the wolf beat him on his own basically . I just threw 2 fire balls at him cus he’s hard to hit with all that jumping
