There's also an alternate ending that can be gained by going all the way to the bottom.

The area getting to this shield felt like a boss to some degree, the amount of deaths I accumulated trying to make those jumps is just....fck

Thank God I had the ground broken already. Whenever I fall I don't lose any health. With that said, I'm into my 50th try and still didn't get to that place. What annoys me the most is that I've been there before but never noticed the item 💔. I saw the item behind the tent and just kept going down.

Took me 8 hours after reaching the capitol to get this shield. That was my only goal.

This comment on Fextralife I didn't write says "Don't actually jump from coffin to coffin like all the chumps leaving bloodstains on them, backstab the guy playing music on the right side, fall down to the coffin below him, and roll your way down coffins on that side a few times to get down. It'll take maybe a few minutes of tries to get it versus an eternity trying to nail some of the most ridiculous platforming in the game." and I was failing constantly with the way to platform showed me here then I backstabbed the violin guy and asked my higher power to take me there by rolling in the spot where the violinist and I finally made it to the shield lol. I "hate this platforming with a passion" too.

Side note: it’s sealed by Morgott. So you have to kill Morgott first.. but getting the grace at Mohg is a good first step

There is a shortcut after the 2nd jump. Walk UP the ramp to the room with the narrow gap and stand on the corpse to the right. Drop down at an angle facing the ramp. After that you'll be going clockwise. Walking drop. Walking jump. Running jump to the corner. Reverse direction and a walking drop will get you to where you need to go. It's that simple.

To get the item in the tent, you have to go to the wall next to the back left corner then quit game. When you continue game you will break the tent. The item is a note

Extremely useful information: you need to kill Morgott before you can get to the final location. But if you found out the hard way like me, at least there's a site of grace right nearby you can come back to after killing Morgott.

Oh god, it’s like trying to go to the abandoned old hunters workshop all over again.

Tip: Combine with the Dragoncrest Shield/ Greatshield to make it even better.

anyone reading this should know he means combining talismans to make the shield stronger. people legit thought others were talking about combining shields together because elden ring players are horrible at explaining things for some reason. it's actually really really weird how bad they are at it.

I got it down to 3 jumps. Take off all your armor, put on the cat talisman. Drop where the musician is at. Jump to the middle tombstone in the middle down about 1/2 way. Turn around. Jump to the corner then turn around and jump to where the body and candle is at. Done. I can’t tell you how many times I died trying to go around in a corkscrew.

@Garrizzno Gaming I can not tell you rage I felt trying to do exactly as the video explained before even seeing this video. I was just trying to get the item on the tombstone below after stumbling upon the secret opening. The more I tried the worse it got. Finally said screw it. I can accept failure. Then I found out that is where three fingers is at and also the tombstone shield. Took a few gear adjustments tries and standing looking down into the abyss planning my jumps. Funny thing was I told a couple friends who were in the chat doing other stuff on the game the day I raged over trying to get the item on the tombstone. When I told them that’s where I got the big ass tombstone shield and explained how to get it they all got it within a few tries if not the first go around.

6:05 here's a tip to help when you're jumping down the two beams. You can aim for the edge where it makes a "Y" shape. I died a million times before I realized I can just jump all the way. Now as for the tombstone jumps, good luck!

Me level 1 beat tree sentinel the 1st day like 5 deaths, and I tell you it's useless anyway The weapon drop has high requirements like 32 STR, then only gives 3500 runes.

I'm sure you know this by now but doing millicents questline gives you an item you can use in a secret dragon boss area to undo it.

I don't usually comment on videos, but this one was a great one. Nice job.

I've played all the fromsoftware games. This is one of the hardest areas I've ever experienced. Don't just walk in here like you're a boss.

Finally got it.. I will say doing the jumps was a nightmare but i was wearing heavy so took all my gear off and then managed to do it :) thank you for the video.

The annoying part about missing it after getting the three finger flame is that you can't die to fall damage because the floor is broken so if i fall i have to fast travel to mohg's site of grace. Even worse is that i had the shield and forgot about it and did all of that for nothing

Been using the jellyfish shield for a couple weeks. Nice and light, kinda distracting though.

i beat the game with this shield made it easy mode, upgrade it to +25 gives you 90 guard boost and shield talisman from altus plateu made it 100% guard boost which literally you dont get stamina penalty when you block physical damage

Hi man. How do you get 100 boost ? I followed this video and upgraded the shield to 25, got the talisman and the ash of war but I’m at 86 guard, not 100

Of course after so many failed attempts at that jumping section during my 2nd playthrough, I know have to do it once again to get the shield that I completely missed even though I poked my head into that body filled alcove. Oh joy the things I do for that sweet, sweet loot

YOOOOO!!! I DID THE JUMPING FIRST TRY!!!!! I MIMICKED EVERYTHING YOU DID WITH ROLLING AND HOPPING PIXEL BY PIXEL!!!! The Last stone tomb you land on I wrote a message that said “ Behold I did It” I have the sentinel armor on!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

If you already got the shield or about to get it, it's the best shield in game with the greater defense talismans. It literally can block all physical attacks without depleting your stamina unless you start attacking. I was able to get my revenge on later bosses and skip through the journey 2 after beating the game.

I found a few of the jumps it makes more sense to run off than jump where you might hit the stone above you. I went a slightly different route than the video so I didn't have to do the drop straight down jump where I would miss the edge.

you didn't need to land on the bottom one. no idea why he demo'd it like that. elden ring players are terrible at making vids. landing on the top one instead gives you the same exact result where u can reach the item except it's way easier. it was a massive error in his video making that would have cost so many people so many wasted hours for nothing.

All the items hidden in tents can be picked, simply lure the enemy close to the tents and then wait for them to attack with madness, they will burn the tent down and you can pick up the item, repeat when you find the second tent the enemy is where the stone shield is

This at +25 with the shield talisman gives it exact 100 guard boost, with a thrusting weapon you can just none stop attack unless the enemy is using an unblockable.

@@looots1320 Base damage and damage scaling is increased each level but guard boost is increased every couple levels, the finger print stone shield has 81 at base and at +25 it has 90, the greatshield talisman gives 10 more totaling 100 exact.

For those who doesn’t want to go through all the headaches and spend an awful lot of time in that literal hole. There is another shield called visage shield that can be found in Caelem ruins in caelid. It will do everything the fingerprint does with the greatshield ring, on top of that it has a built in wonderful weapon art, which makes it arguably better shield.

Can it even block without using stamina? You can't put barricade on it and if it still loses stamina with the talisman then its not going to function the same way as Fingerprint shield

@@WarTurtle007 No, visage will have maximum ~90 guard boost with the talisman. The fingerprint will have 100, plus madness buildup if used offensively, plus the option of no ash of war, making it the better pick unless you specifically want the ash of war from visage.

Bro thank god I had already gone through this hell beforehand as I got the frenzied flame ending

after that ordeal, you might as well jump to the bottom and get the frenzied flame ending scenario...also allow the adds to 'frenzy flame' the tents to get the loot that can't be reached

I swear to fuckin god, this was the most frustrating area in the whole game. I'd rather fight 10XMalenia than do this again. PS: I had to go into offline mode because there were pools of blood everywhere and they were obstructing my view -- at one point I literally couldnt see the path LUL

Thanks for the guide, I have no idea how I did this, but I did manage to get there in the end. Although, the shit stains in my pants will take a while to clean, and even my controller was sweating on the jump/drop bits.

Tip: It's extra op with barricade shield and can block just about anything including magic.

86 guard boost

if you find yourself fighting a turtle in PvP using this shield or any great shield it is still beatable but really annoying. I would recommend using Bloodhound Step to curve around and take little pokes till the turtle knight either gives up or dies, after a couple of fights against great shield users i feel that they will pair their great shield with a Great Lance/Heavy Thrusting Weapon, It will be hard to beat for pure Strength Builds. If anyone has any other strats against these turtle knights i would like to know :(

It's already evolved bro I used to do the same shit as you but now they have pikes with infused status effect with bloodhound step it's a lot harder to out maneuver them now and when you trade they usually have their stupid shield up haha other than parry I legit have no idea how to beat it now stupid broken but boring to play.

I'm using dual ice hoslow too with bloodhound step idk man I tried everything bleed and scythes even the swiord that goes through shield is out ranged by the pike so it's just useless against this build especially if you are fighting against a patient turtle

Have you tried this on malenia yet? Does it negate her lifestyle? I've got the shield but I'm hesitant to re-spec for it if it doesn't work on her. Plz tell me 🙏😂

​@@olivernalen It's a great shield almost impenetrable by Malenia (almost) but it ways a tonne (28) so I had to start downgrading much needed armour and weapons. In the end, I didn't use it. I went with the Silver mirror shield and the rivers of blood katana and double teamed the hell out of her with my mimic - by far the most effective method I found after 40+ previous attempts and various other strategies.

@@olivernalen it doesn't negate her lifesteal, but you can just outdamage her lifesteal, i'd reccomend a thrusting weapon with bleed

@@olivernalen she still life steal you, but with a spear or a thrusting sword you can poke her to death while blocking. A bleed weapon with frost enchantment is always useful, but if you defeated Mohg, lord of blood, you can get a fire/bleed spear that can make short work of her (aparently she is weak to fire, scarlet rot related enemies seens to be vulnerable to that), if not... any bleed/frost also work... or use both, poke until frostbite, swich to fire to remove the frost, then frostbite again. The shield already ask for 48 strengh so any weapon with a bit of strengh scalling will be doing decent damage

I needed this shield to complete my madness build

Best shield in the game. Pair it with a talisman and it's basically 100% barricade uptime

Hi man. How do you get 100 boost ? I followed this video and upgraded the shield to 25, got the talisman and the ash of war but I’m at 86 guard, not 100

For everyone who is freaking out on the inside for leaving the items in the tents, you have to aggro a nearby enemy to use their madness strong attack on the tents to break them. Thanks Arekkz, somehow I missed this super cool shield.

6:55 if you stand next to the item. Quit. And re-lord your game, everything around it will break. Allowing you to get the item 👍🏼

I missed this the first time and had to go back to get it. Fun fact if you’ve done it once you don’t take fall damage

I hate this game. And I hate more that I keeps coming back to it.

Once again I'm commenting on a video about going down this pit. There is a faster way and more safeter if you fall down the right side of the Soldier playing the instrument. How simple is it? You skip all the parkour he did in the video and start off at 6:43 You fall onto 1 tombstone. You can roll onto the next but it can sometimes slip you off with the roll so wouldn't recommend. Then you fall down 1 and then down the last time

And there’s a talisman to negate fall damage. You can do big jumps with that thing on

Would love to see a video on that route. There are multiple enemies sitting playing an instrument, too.

The unobtainable one if u save and quit out while looking at it and then load in holding forward and spam ur roll the tent will explode.....just figured that out
