One of the coolest things about Knight's Lightning Spear is that even if you are interrupted while casting, the additional spears still fire off.

Dunking people with Messmer’s Orb is honestly the best thing in ER.

I'm guessing it got buffed. Pre-patch it was incredibly underwhelming. The gatefront enemies would slap me through it and the damage was super low.

@@FightinCowboy It definitely got buffed. I was using it in the dlc against enemies and it was a guaranteed kill on regular enemies. Depending on the enemy and how much health they had, I hit anywhere from 2500-5k+ damage with it. Love gathering a bunch of small enemies and killing them all with it lmao. Definitely give it another chance imo

Imagine having the Light of Miquella in combination with the Light Sword while wearing the Circlet of Light, you will be a literal light god and I am all for it

@@dragonlordplacidusax9413 the multi ring move or whatever it’s called does way more damage. But for AOE chunking or for a starting move, Light of Miquella is great. It’s also a pretty good defensive tool in pvp from what I’ve seen since the moment you’re in the air, the move is going to land.

@@Insanabiliter_In_Linea Sorcery carried me through almost the entire DLC with little to no issue. It only really started to have issues on the final boss with just being shy of being able to kill him. But most builds fall off at the final boss. So don't worry, Sorcery is still the pew pew monster you remember it to be. Just don't try the Comet Azure trick since you'll 100% die if you try it.

@@Insanabiliter_In_Linea yeah sorcery is still great. Faith is also eating great this dlc so if you want to go faith you 100% can. I also wouldn’t take my statement of the final boss as a shot at sorcery since most builds no matter how cheesy they are, tend to fall off against him due to how overturned they made his second phase.

1 incant i think worth mentioning is giant golden arc. Very fast cast time and super wide range, as well as very solid damage but the kicker is that almost every enemy ive hit with it gets stunned briefly, and if you keep casting it you can stunlock them. Very good for groups of enemies and solid for tougher enemies like black knights and such.

The new pest threads does crazy damage. And it can be charged

Seems like a weapon with endure is gonna be the key to use Messmer's Orb effectively.

Mesmer’s Orb: RASENGAN! Best part? Jiraiya actually had a Fire Style Rasengan called the Great Flame Rasengan which was technically just him making a Rasengan and spitting fire onto it but, yeah.

The dlc really plays favorites with what builds it has equipment for. Str/Fai feels like it gets the vast majority of the new items

I'll agree with Faith over int for spells, but there's way more int hybrid weapons now. As for strength I think Dex has a lot of really crazy stuff now so those feels pretty balanced

@@Scowleasy Not just undead, there are a couple of Albinauric enemies that are weaker to holy. The sorcery-themed portions of the game are also decent to go through with holy, and there are so many fire themed bosses that are better done with holy or lightning. There were three major bosses that felt resistant to holy to me, the rest seemed either weak to it or neutral.

​@@FightinCowboyI hate hybrid weapons because they look so cool and I want to use them but the stat spread makes you so much weaker in pvp because everybody wants the pvp level to be 125 or 150 and you cannot get the best damage out of a hybrid weapon with that.

I can't believe you didn't include giant golden arc.

The only thing I am worried about after this has finally come out is how they plan on one upping elden ring. I am so worried this might be the pinnacle. It isn't that I don't have faith in Miyazaki chan but this game is just so damn perfect its legit my all time favorite game.

Light of Miquella also will still go off at full strength even if you get knocked out of the animation. Once that ring of light appears then the spell is firing off regardless of what happens to you

Fire Serpent is also Chargable for more damage. It's fuggin god tier except for the range. Rings of Light was in the chasm at the very south end of the map, drops from a miniboss right before the actual boss. Pest Thread Spears not being on this list is criminal to me too, that thing does like 2-3k to single opponents and 4 to 5 times that if they're big and can take multiple procs of the damage as it passes through their body, it has the same properties as Pest Threads but better small target damage and is chargable.

Light of Miquella on Death Birds and Ghostflame Dragons would be interesting to see. Lot of holy damage. Big AoE potential.

The rings of light are such an amazing utility damage option. Affordable, reliable, solid damage, generous radius to catch tricky enemies, and it flies across the map to snipe those goddamn curseblades. What's not to love?

I believe Discus of Light has slightly larger range than the multilayered rings, but there's no reason you can't just use both :P

The snake fire spell reminds me of the vertical missiles from Armored Core, but even more reliable.

Just a heads up. it *seems* like Scadutree Blessings don't affect spells in the DLC if you feel like your spells are way weaker there. I was wondering why Fire Serpent was only doing 600 or so with 60 Faith, Godfrey Icon, full-charge and the Fire Knight Seal (Which boosts Messmer incants).

Hoping Messmer’s Orb and Rotten Butterflies sees a buff to HA 🫢

I like the concept of Light of Miquella and it looks awesome but it doesn't seem to do that much damage overall. Tested it against Malenia and wasn't very impressed with the damage numbers. Maybe I need to try it against larger foes?

Thanks for showing these videos. Just in the future, don’t just show us low-level enemies to preview these weapons,incantations, etc. on. Show us decent level enemies too. Maybe, right the DLC the cave. I for want to see how these do on stronger enemies.

The light of miquella It’s broken as the talisman and the head piece don’t work.

Man i wish ansbach furious blade is better, such a cool incantation for such little combat utility😢

One thing to mention with Light of Miquella, it's range is insane. You can lock on a target, move back until the lock-on is about to snap off, and it'll still nuke from the other side of the map. Also the new pest threads does some weird shotgunning on big targets, on the new dragon boss if you sit right under him, it killed him before he transitioned to phase 2.

4:44 Maybe I missed it somewhere in the vid, but after firing the "original bolt" you can quick change the lock-on to the other target that you want to hit with other 6 spears.

Reviewers crying over the difficulty (not Cowboy) This ain't Palworld.

I found my self using a lot of dragon communion spells in the dlc. And ancient dragon lightening spells. Shredded Bayle the Dread last night with Rotten Breath and the spell that casts red lightening pillars. Threw in the new dragon spell that does shadow flame too. Took about three tries.

Messmers orb is looking so cool, but this has to be one of the worst spells for 60faith. No hyper armor and you get staggered if an enemy hits you before slamming the ground. Also fucking awful at bosses besides against malenia

Tons of good ones, too many to fully upgrade unless you've been hording materials. Faith is eating good, Arcane and Quality probably the next after that.

Not a single bad faith weapon in the dlc, even generic looking ones have nice dmg. Personally Flame Knight Greatsword, Queeligns Greatsword, Black Steel Hammer, Frenzy Flame and Mesmer Remembrance weapons, all BEASTLY.

Mesmers Orb is basically Scarlet Aeonia but fire. Meh

It's too slow for most encounters and you get knocked out of it very often. It's great if you can get it to do all three attacks but it's almost impossible.

Since Knight’s Lightning Spear has a delay on the second set of hits, a charged Knight’s Lightning Spear combos immediately into an uncharged Lightning Spear as long as the enemy flinches. It’s such an effective combo to nuke an enemy safely.

LOL Sorcery got shafted so hard in this DLC couldn't even make a top 5 with all the shit options it got.

This is specifically an incantations video, not a Sorcery video. That said, they did get like half the number of new spells and very few new weapons, though the return of weapon catalysts in the form of the Carian Sorcery Sword is huge (if they buff the scaling a bit, seems pretty weak right now but I appreciate the concept returning).

My one complaint with some of the new incants in the DLC is that most don't out preform what the base game gives us. Some do and some are PvP focused but others just aren't worth it. Hopefully we get a big sweeping balance update against soon that goes over all the new stuff in the DLC. I've seen some new weapons that are busted and others I feel aren't even worth picking up.

Spells got zero good new options

So you get staggered out of every single one of the good incantations which makes them unusable against any DLC boss because they will punish you hard for even trying. Gotcha.

I consider incantations and sorceries spells, for differentiating them I use the aforementioned names but I think for general purpose we can call them all spells

I Imagine for roleplay reasons incantations that are lost arts in the Lands between like the Knight's lightning spear would traumatise the enemies. And of course Light of miquella is just deific & divine. Bayle's incantations are just "trash" though.
