Hi, I just want to say thanks. I got this game and was so excited to play it, I played sekiro (I knew elden ring would be nothing like it) but after watching tons of gameplay and reviews, I was obsessed! A day before I got the game though, my controller stopped working. I was left with no choice but to play with keybord and mouse. I searched up multiple videos, NONE OF THEM HELPED, there was always one key that I could never get used to and it felt very wrong. I continued trying and I honestly gave up. Then your video popped up in my reccomended. I saw your keybinds, and tried them. They feel so natural, and I'm finally able to play this game with keyboard and mouse. I'm about 10 hours in, and I'm LOVING IT!! Thanks so much again.

I play with mouse and keyboard but it still feels clunky and stuttery when you use w + "a" or "d" and then looking around with the mouse. there something working against each other and causes this weird feeling while moving around. What really frustrates me is that there is no extra binding for the horse. switching between horse and healing is so annoying...

For switching sorcery and items the old dark souls games on pc already default the mouse wheel up for sorcery, down for items, and hold shift + mwheel up and down to change right and left hand weapon respectively. It was intuitive and you're just replicating that like I do. I use Q for items as it's easy to reach Finally I bind the skill to Y The default pc controls are bad because use skill like parry is shift right click, and strong attack is shift left click. This means there's an issue where you want to guard counter and end up accidentally parrying instead because you forgot to let go of right click. By unbinding the mouse button to use your skill, you don't have to let go of guard to perform a strong attack counter

Although I knew about this issue from the beginning of the game, it wasn't until after I finished the game that I looked up how to set the keyboard and mouse. The default setting is a nightmare. My starting character is a mage, so it's a bit easier.

I was very nervous to get Elden Ring due to not wanting to use a controller but this guide is exactly what I needed dispel my fear!

I saw you perform jumping dismount here 15:41 how did you do that on keyboard? I'm trying to perform a jumping attack with horse but I can't do it with keyboard+mouse.

They should look at the Dark Soul 1 Remastered version... The KbM controls in that game is amazing, it also made the game absurdly much easier having that amount of free targeting and movement.

6:18, "Move forwards" is possible to bind to right mouse button or this option is disabled by developers ? For example in Cyberpunk2077 I can bind "move forward" to mouse button.

great tutorial. just wish you can manually delete some keybinds. game only lets you replace existing ones.

The biggest problem for me is there i can't change memu controls. In ds3 i could do all of the hard swaps with mouse and now u can't.

I'm not trying to convince anyone to switch over to controller but with a ps5 control you could add Spectral Steed Whistle to your Pouch, Spirit Ashes too makes it a little easier to use holding Triangle down then pressing D-pad direction for what you want to use.. Hope that helps but i actually wanted to ask what are all the default controls for keyboard on Elden Ring and does it vary from different types of keyboards?

Oh, I do not remember the key combination or if you just have to equip the weapon and have the mana item ready and just hit right click. Not sure anymore. I have not played in a loooong time.

@@iRedseven only reason i went inverted because it's how our neck works when looking up and down, pull back to look up, down to look down, in a 3D space. not inverted is like looking at 2D stuff like doing work on the computer.

@@iRedseven I adapted to mouse and keyboard. I hate how this game forced me to relearn everything I knw about gaming. I am almost done. I don't believe I've skipps anything. Approaching two hundred hours...a painful amount of my hours was around experiementing how to play, and how to mod away Fomsofts ultrawide and fps limitations without getting banned. Thank you for your work.

I use my right click for my Dodge and sprint, it's more intuitive when you get used to it.

@@Hirotoro4692 Key binding block on a key that is near the movement keys is better than having it on right click. Right click is a really good key bind that is usually used for really important mechanics as you can turn around and move while using the key bind, while you don't really need to move around while blocking. So having block on a key such as f or any key near the movement keys is better.

@@surealest It most certiainly is not more intuitive to have F as block. You don't ever want to compromise movement, even if it's not by much. This is why sprints in games are typically in shift beacuse it allows you to use your pinky while being able to use all wasd at the same time. This has been established by pros over a decade now, it's not really up for "debate." Just use what you prefer, but don't make far fetched arguments. Also, nice to see a Slime fan lol

You get to dash with the mouse if you setup a keybind to the button I show in the video and set it as a secondary button. That's it.

There are people who beat dark souls with a dance dance revolution pad, or the donkey kong bongos, or just a bunch of interconnected bananas. If that can be done then k&m feels pretty vanilla to me. Don’t forget the devs use k&s :)

I hate how console games combine buttons. Anyone remember Mass Effect sprint/take cover button resulting in multiple deaths? Here it's the same with movement has dismount horse/crouch, dodge has sprint and so on

for some reason dodging with the spacebar feels so so so much better

I guess if you use space a lot and get used to it having being switched from jumping to dodging, then it's all fine, right? I preferred to have my brain wired to the same PC keybinds I use for other games. It's a matter of getting used to basically.

I made a macro that binds my "Spacebar" to "Shift" and made the jump key "Alt" instead. I have both Shift and Spacebar as Sprint/Dodge.

Basically you have to switch weapons from one hand wielding to two hand wielding, mate. I think its done with E+Left Click or E+Right Click

Explain they keybinds for Zooming with Bow/Crossbow/Telescope. And don't just fuckin say, "OH HERP DERP! Just use Up/Down Arrows" NO, TELL ME THE FLIPPIN KEYBIND CAUSE THAT UPDOWN ARROW SHIT DOESN'T FLY GOD DAMNIT. Yeah, that's what I thought, no one fuckin knows how to zoom for Keyboard.

Your problem as a PC gamer is that you are still playing with a standard keyboard. You use the Logitech G502 mouse which is good. Ditch the keyboard and get a Logitech G13 programmable keypad, or a Razor Orbweaver. You can program in multi-key macros, etc... All the stuff you mention in this video is inferior to the possibilities and options you get with one of these keypads.

Any XBOX Microsoft controller is a scam. Camera drift garbage
