Yup. I've got a hand-and-a-half one that's a bit shorter, but you can switch from longsword techniques to rapier techniques to arming sword techniques effortlessly.

My 40.2 inch blade longsword feder that I use for HEMA is only about 3 lbs. People tend to overestimate how heavy swords actually were. You wanted something light and nimble, so you could quickly transition from guarding yourself to counterattacking your opponent. At 3 lbs I can swing that longsword for hours before my shoulders get too tired to be effective anymore and it still feels very strong in the bind. You need far less weight than what people expect swords to weigh.

The lack of appreciation for the “M’Lady” hat tip is astonishing to me.

I love that this is a series where the weapons don’t have to be practical, cuz the more souls you have or runes in this case the more physical strength you’d canonically have. Yet they still make them at least somewhat practical.

That's because the principles of real-world weaponry still apply no matter how much strength you have, outside of the most extreme examples. You still want your weapon to be well-balanced to make it more maneuverable, you still don't want it to be too heavy because even for people with super strength a lighter weapon will move faster than a heavy one, and spinning (in the context of a 1v1) is still a terrible idea no matter how fast you are because it's completely unnecessary.

I would like to shout out another lightweight Chinese greatsword; the *Miaodao.* Its functionally a Chinese take on Nodachi where they also took the pipeback from European pipeback sabers to make a super nimble, slash-focused longsword.

There has only been one confirmed in this category. There might be more, but we don't know, considering the dlc hasn't released yet

There is 100% gonna me more than just one weapon in that category, the DLC is adding around a hundred new weapons, it would be insane if this category only had one weapon

Light greatswords seem like a fun weapon class

The real life zweihander like swords were often extremely light and could be whipped around at high speeds. Most people just don’t know 😅

Overall neat built that I can’t wait to use in the game

I vaguely recall a Italian Spadones being like this. Longer than a long sword, but thinner and lighter than most other Greatswords

There are actually 3(technically 4) light great swords. The class also includes Leda's Sword and Rellana's Carian Swords

Correct me if I'm wrong but this category of weapons seems like a historical Bastard Sword. It doesn't belong in neither one handed sword or two handed swords. So calling them "Light Greatswords" may be just a correction on From part for mixing terms here across multiple games. Also, this is by far my favorite "type" of swords. Great versatility, while still keeping appearance of just regular one handed sword. Thing of beauty ❤⚔️ One more thing: I would completely fall in love with this category if there's one "Light Greatswords" specifically which features multiple different techniques and styles like series of quick slashes and stabs for light attacks, a pummel bash for heavy or even give it pseudo stance switching with ash of war to switch between one handed and two handed moveset. You know, the thing that Bastard Sword is known for: ability to wielded both one and two handed

Yeah, "Bastard Swords" could have been its own weapon class, but since they already have a weapon named Bastard Sword awkwardly placed in the Greatswords category, they had to come up with a different designation for these. That being said, they also have a weapon named "Greatsword" which has never been a part of the Greatswords class, and is instead a Colossal Sword (Ultra Greatsword in Dark Souls), so who knows what their process is when coming up with names and classifications.

Well, we can't say Milady is the ONLY Light Greatsword. We just only saw one Light Greatsword in the Showcases, but we only saw 2 main areas, and didn't get to see all of the item pickups, and there's over 100 new weapons in the DLC, so I'm sure one of the other 100 is another Light Greatsword.

So in other words, what the normal greatsword type should've been in the first place

So basically this is more along the lines of a sensibly designed weapon as opposed to the slabs of sidewalk the game calls swords.

There are 3 light greatswords actually Technical 4 but two of them are one weapon so

There's actually 2 swords in the catalogue

Reminds me of an Estoc without the quilloned cross guard

Only thing is you wouldn’t sheathe this on your waste or on your back. You’d likely just carry it in a sheath due to its length

In the fallout show, there is a scene where a character used rotten teeth as ammo for his gun, is that actually possible and how practical would it be?

While there's no way it's implemented the functionality in game, that flanged mace pommel would probably make for a hell of a murderstroke too
