@@TrippyTimesTwo thats an ash of war called raptor of the mist its a dodge that can lead to a follow up jump attack, you can even dodge the speeding trains on the catacombs with it

​@@AzrealJ they added an item called deflecting hardtear that makes it so when you perfectly time a block close to when an attack hits you, you take 0 damage and reduced stamina damage, clearly inspired by sekiros deflect mechanic which the game is built around

​@@hyktaros7586 I think he is talking about the 2 quick slashes. Ongbal has to use a deflect into roll to dodge it here and in his other video he uses the talisman for backstep i-frames into roll. So I guess you just can't avoid both hits normally

Whats also interesting is the fact Radahn is the only one to have particles disapear from him (like any dead mob) but miquella just fades away. If a sequel does come out, we know that miquella's soul is still out there, probably looking for a new consort or malding.

Mid fight, I looked at Ongbal's health and saw it was about 5%, so I panicked and went back on the video to see where did Radahn hit him, till I figured it's an old injury from his days fighting Lord "Isshin" !!

he does it again if you are positioned in the middle. To do like how ongbal did, when he does the lion claw, strafe left and deflect and guard counter fast

dude the way you use the weapon art is SO DOPE like instead of wasting time jumping and waiting you use it to not only close the gap but also attack

It wouldn't be exaggerated to say that you're the best souls player ever

Okay the weapon looked cool but I dismissed it for being not that powerful... but those s are just wicked and the added movement is so damn cool

@@arklaw8306 you mean Bayle? Imo Bayle hits hard but his moves are slow and his combos are not long. Radahn on the other hand has ridiculously long combos in phase 2. The blinding light of Miquella and his damn hair also make it hard to see Radahn's attacks.

I think it would be cool to see his first playthrough fights, to see how a master instinctually kills an enemy they have never seen and don't know any of their moves.

​@@swann4b374The new deflecting hardtear. Found by killing the first furnace golem . Think of it like the deflect from sekiro, or perfect guard from lies of p. Basically, if you time your block right, you dont take chip damage, and consumes little stamina

Me too I am also using bloody halice. Gonna add a raptor of the mist dagger on offhand and try again. I am getting closer it just comes down to identifying attacks you can counter instead of dodging actually really fun and challenging. We gotta use everything to fight final boss of the dlc and ER. Don't let the crybabies discourage you😊

Thank you for showing how to best use the Blinkbolt Greataxe against him. It's my weapon of choice and I couldn't have beat him without learning what to dodge with the ash of war and to block counter his jump attack. Forever a legend, ONGBAL

Gameplay is so perfect it looks like a TAS, congrats!

The real God and Legend

Honestly this is one of my favourite fights in Elden ring. The music hard carries it, but the first phase has an incredibly cool moveset that’s super fun to play against. I don’t really like the amount of spam in the second phase, but the spectacle and the easy punish windows kinda carry it for me, 4/5 boss, crazy fun.

I agree, if it weren't for the big punish windows and generous amount of healing the game gives you I think the fight would feel unbearable for the average player, but if you're patient, resourceful, and learn his phase 1 moveset well enough you can make it through. I think it balances out.

@@darkmatter9643 It is pretty tricky, but you can dodge it or stack Holy defense. I was able to block it with an UGS and the chip damage wasn't so bad.

I feel you on the performance issues, my game freezes a bunch on some bosses, we're both playing on ultra hard difficulty

Executed flawlessly with the ending synced with the ost was perfect

While I've been wrestling my way to try and beat this fight on my NG+3 game, your smooth execution is a bit of a reprieve, and chance for me to see how to handle a few of his attacks. My favourite clean interaction I've gotten so far has been with his circle of rocks that he throws down from the air. Since that's a sorcery, if you time to cast _JUST_ as he starts the upswing, Ranni's Dark Moon pull in and annihilate all the projectiles _BARELY_ before they hit you - and then the Moon will follow him down to the ground and hit him with the debuff. It's super satisfying and maybe an interaction you'd find a way to make use of if you do some more of these. Cheers!!

That's clever. I've also wondered if Carian Retaliation could absorb it, but beat him before I thought to try it. Although maybe it has too many projectiles, I don't recall exactly how it works.

If you're lucky, because the terrain is uneven, if either you or Radahn are at a different elevation there's a decent chance the first two swipes will completely miss. Otherwise idk if there's a way to actually avoid it at close range without guard deflecting.
