So by this logic just nerf all the bosses so they aren't hard anymore? Also Elden Beast wasn't hard. If you got to that point in the game after beating Maliketh and Radagon, it is not hard.

I really like using torrent for the Elden Beast fight. It may be too easy now, but before it was plain unfun. My head canon was always that Torrent is the tarnished trump card. Trivializing the cosmic god thingy because of Torrent just feels right in my mind.

The warped axe is my weapon for the dlc. I prepared a build with this weapon two weaks ago. It was so strong and got even stronger

It has a thing where it gets the bleed of a collosal weapon but hits fast like a light weapon. Mine is doing 133 bleed per hit

Fun fact that makes Malenia's great rune a bit better, briar armor rolls heal you the same as an attack, on top of keeping posture damage up and staggering low poise enemies.

@@TheRealJohnHoopercounter some of its effects with the Full bloom guardian garb (+10% flask healing but -22% fire absorption) or the crimson seed talisman (+20% flask healing), or the crimson scarab headpiece works too (+10% flask healing, -5% to all absorptions)

@@kuremenze4861 yeah for me too, Elden Beast is not bad, but rather mid. EB boss fight is Vordt, Abyss Watchers or Lady Butterfly kind of mid, meaning still very enjoyable. Especially frustrating, considering Radagon is such an amazing fight and S tier on his own

Actually very thankful that they added Torrent for the Elden Best fight. It makes the fight so much more bearable for lower level runs.

This is great. One of my builds going into the DLC is a dual wield rusted anchor and pickaxe strength build. Although, my other build is a faith build with golden order spells and blasphemous blade. Sucks blasphemous blade got nerfed, but seems like a good update overall

I think there is more dialogue from Gideon about Miquella now - telling him about the haligtree - telling him about mohg

I only had a few mins to test, but pretty sure the Moonlight GS Projectile also got a sneaky damage nerf alongside the poise. Compared the same 2 scenarios with 80 INT and I got around 374 less damage overall. 1816 from 2190, tested on sewer omens

Warped axe also gets greataxe status build up for some reason so this weapon just became HIGH A tier for me

Fought the elden beast with torrent yesterday and it was so refreshing to finally be able to catch up to elden beast so I can actually fight the thing lol

Finally!

Warped Axe gets an S in strength scaling if heavy infused but it also gets an A in strength scaling if blood infused. Not only that, but it has the bleed scaling of a greataxe while it actually counts as a regular axe. This makes it one of the best strength based bleed weapons since it swings so fast.

So we have bloodborne health bars? Now this... this is epic.

Fighting Elden Beast with Torrent makes the fight so much cooler

You can dodge wave of gold at mid range. You have to dodge to the side right after it finishes its swing. Can't do it a close range though.

the torrent for elden beast was long overdue

Seeing the patch notes and finding out Malenia's Great Rune rally effect was seemingly buffed had me excited to finally be able to play more aggressively like a Bloodborne Hunter, but now I'm disappointed to see that it actually wasn't that big of a buff and the Great Rune still sucks, just slightly less than before.

What changes were made about those weapons being nerfed?

Any chance you could cover whips? I’m curious if it’s viable to use now

Super excited for 99 strength with the S-scaling Warped Axe!

I've always felt like Elden Beast should've been a spectacle boss fight, instead of an actual 2nd phase for Radagon. I'm at the point where I can do both phases pretty consistently, but I feel like this is way better from a design perspective.

dude i wanted to like malenia's great rune so bad but couldn't. now i might try it out again because 85 percent is so much better than the 70 that it was. and the hits heal you for more which makes it seem a lot more appealing. i might use it for the dlc tbh

I'm of the opinion that Radagon is tough enough that Elden Beast being "trivialized" by Torrent isn't really a problem. Besides, it feels very narratively appropriate to finish the adventure with your steed who has been your constant companion for the entire journey.

One day they will add visible boss-stance bar

I feel like Elden Beast is going to get a buff at some point to compensate for it's lack of challenge against Torrent. We'll just have to see what FromSoft thinks about that. But I'm happy they allow players to ride Torrent when facing the Elden Beast. Not only does it make gap-closing less annoying, but it feels climactic in an almost "full-circle" kind of way.

I love being able to do this with torrent, he carried you theough the gamw and he can carry to slay god

Like if they were to revert malenia's waterfowl to her 1.0 version because people thought it was too hard. I feel like the boss should be challenging and giving the option to just skip any of that instead of looking for a different way is somewhat disappointing. It's mainly my personal opinion on the change it's not like I'm gonna go after people who use torrent for elden beast, all power to you

I'll take an easy but epic looking final boss over an annoying one any day, as someone who literally beat the game a couple of days ago, fighting EB for the first time was a fucking NIGHTMARE, from the perspective of a casual player it just felt like running back and forth getting Your ass blasted by lasers non-stop, it was just plain unfun as hell, now I get to look cool on a horsie! Also, before EB there's still a bunch of difficult bosses to get through, if my reward for all these fights is a cool spectacle, I honestly don't mind at all

You only dismount i-framed the far part of wave of gold which you can just roll normally, it’s only the middle section that has overlapping hitboxes that you can’t roll, so it’s worth testing that again but I imagine you can probably i frame it with the horse since it has almost a second of i frames. Seems like horse makes the boss a little too trivial but Elden Beast did have some borderline unfair combinations especially if you were close to walls and it will make chasing him down much easier so i’m not mad about it. It’s more of a spectacle fight anyway

Chasing that giant fairy shrimp on foot was so annoying. Also seems poetic that Torrent starts your journey with you, and now ends it with you as well.

the fact it took them this long to admit their mistake lol. they def meant to have torrent for the elden beast like that from the start. Sorta like in Zelda where you have the first fight on foot then it ends on horseback. clear as the summer day.

To me they should have managed the radagon/elden beast fight like in bloodborne with gherman/moon presence. Radagon should be the actual final boss and elden beast should be an easy fight that you get only in certain endings.

Personally, I didn't find Elden Beast that hard, but this will certainly spice up the fight.

Lots of weapons that were OP got nerfed into the ground. Deaths Poker avoided the nerfs though...
