I been follwing elaine before her rise to stardom, on her social media pages back then, every chance she got she would glorify, adore, praise and admire shelly. She was almost obsessed. She really love her and always said she is her role model.

Yes Peter, call it what it is. They are both striving for the same result..winning the races they both compete in as individuals..we should just celebrate the fact that they are Jamaicans, plus the fact that they provide up a very good chance of a gold and silver medal when they perform. Simply awesome. What a luxury of talent for Jamaica!!

That's the reason I said before Shelly was happy for Elaine to have won that race in 2016, because her toe was giving her problem..... Both of them are at faults as it stands presently, not just one person but I love them both.

I just re-watched Tokyo Olympics and the 2022 World Championships. My observation... Shelly and Shericka were very salty and just stood watching Elaine celebrate. They didn't even celebrate their results. At Oregon, even though Elaine did not win, she was out there celebrating with them. I also noticed that Elaine used to run to Shelly to celebrate but now she barely hugs anyone. Something definitely happened between the ladies. They display good sportsmanship and never publicly displayed any drama though. I really admire Elaine's grace and humility.

@@lornalewis7262 in recent times Elaine just celebrates her own wins. Previously she ran to Shelly to celebrate and was met with coldness (Rio 2016). And while people would say Shelly was disappointed that she did not win, look at how she celebrates with Shericka. At the World Championship Elaine congratulated her teammates. She was even out there taking pics and greeting fans with them. Anyone with eyes can see that Shelly and Shericka are not fond of Elaine for whatever reason and I feel like she has come to a place of not caring for their acceptance. Just my deduction. Nevertheless, I think all 3 ladies are great.

Watch both post big race where jamaica swept 1-2-3, 100m tokyo 2020 vs 100m oregon 2022 worlds. Jamaica won in huge way. Also the additional variable to these 2 legends is shericka jackson. How shericka behaved after losing. There were no jamaica celebration 1-2-3 in tokyo. Big difference in oregon when shelly won. Again, watch shericka. Also watch post race of 2022 worlds 200 m. Shelly won silver, same as tokyo 2020. But losing to shericka vs losing to elaine. HUGE difference. U’d think shelly won that 200m at worlds by how she behaved after the race. These vids here happened before their fall out. We all have eyes, we can see clearly what is happening at the moment. Its shelly/shericka vs elaine. Clearly

Bredrine... yuh a chat bout 6 years ago.... obviously there is static between not just these 2 champions but the 3rd champion SJ as well. When SFP and/or SJ do well they ALWAYS celebrate each other... when ETH wins there's a brief and uninspired acknowledgement by the other 2.... there is a considerable disparity in how they celebrate and acknowledge ETH vs themselves between the other 2 Queens. Obviously there is an issue!

You said it yourself! Bad news sells! I strongly believe that ShellyAnn and Elaine respect each other's athletic prowess. They also know that if that 29 year old record held by Flo Jo must fall, it has to be in an arena where both of these super athletes are pushing each other to the limit! Additional critical factors would be: A fast track, Good warm weather And favorable wind speed around 1.5 to 1.9.

Peter you need to add the one that Elaine gave Shelley batton and told to run. Where the won the Olympic gold medal.

It's good that they are both gruesomely competitive. Meaning leaving the Americans behind. Bolt, Powell, Blake and all the beautiful Jamaican Queens are shining now because international bodies have meticulously clamp down on doping in track and field. Things are going back to normal. They definitely are not as close as before, and nothing is wrong with that. Plus shelly not an affectionate, huggy huggy person. She said do herself. There is also a difference in how Elaine embrace and show happiness for brianna.

This a history lesson. Go look at what happen in the build up b4 the 4x100 ceremony yesterday. And the hugs or greetings at tokyo were distinctly diff from in 2016. So you pushing the wrong narrative. They are not friends. Eth is better. Watch out for what will happen with SJ and SAFP. You shud show this to SJ.

Some people hear something, don't do any research and run with it. Some people see something and all their mind collect is negativity. I really noticed that something was off at the Ja trials and I watched several others races with both of them. I could say more but I'll leave it there. But alot of us, Jamaicans, don't get along with people because of personality differences and not necessarily character. We don't know these people. So we should not speak/comment affirmatively. The abuse I've seen towards SFP is digusting.

@@peterlloydworld what I mean is every aspiring athlete wants a chance to get into the big track clubs and are willing to do what it takes to get to the top. When they get there (success) they complain about the ways of the coaches forgetting that the methods used by the coaches are what got them success. You can see it in many aspects of life also. People will for example come to you for a loan, job, etc. and are so polite and humble, but once they get what they wanted they are different. When time passes and you ask about your money the things you are told. Imagine being told "then is that little trump change you're asking about." On the job, they get to a stage where certain thing they no longer want to do. I hope I haven't gone off the point. Bless up.

Hmmmmmm all of those embracing was years ago...they have mad respect for each other, but even a fool can see that the friendship is there no more.

Peter you know better than this post! There are clear issues on the part of Shelly; the jealousy is clear! One can be disappointed but should also show grace in losing. This was not done in Tokyo by Shelly and we all know it. Even in rio when Elaine ran to Shelly; the latter’s response was not warm! Come on let’s call a spade a spade!

Great perspective Adrian, I completely get it but that's not what I see. Maybe I am naive but I see athletes at the top of their game who are highly competitive and are use to winning hence disappointment when they loose. However I see why yourself and others see something else. You may be correct but I also see clear moments of friendship and support. Thank you for sharing 🙏🏾

I reviewed that instance per your suggestion i.e. Bolt Blake etc. I agree there was clear disappointment from Fraser Pryce but it was in moment and not directed at Thompson. Once she regained composure she was supportive. Both women have been disappointed but have openly continually supported each other. I posted this to stimulate a honest discussion about this topic.

@@peterlloydworld - can’t agree here. Fraser Pryce and Jackson barely even touched Elaine! Nothing but a small tap on the back. No hug! And it’s this that was most disappointing for me. I could understand with the initial disappointment but to stay standing for so long away from Elaine speaks volumes in my view! In the end the fact that it’s one Jamaica should have made Fraser and jackson act with a lot more class!

They don’t get along. Thompson is jealous because Jamaicans favor Shelly Ann.
