Cèdre voué à l'abattage à la suite de quatre expertises (suite chantier école réalisé par 20 stagiaires et apprentis en CS taille et soins des arbres et leurs 3 formateurs). A regret, ce cèdre bicentenaire a du être démonté en raison du danger qu'il représentait pour les résidents vivant à proximité. Deux énormes charpentières avaient cédé sous le poids de la neige...

Parfois, c'est quasiment impossible de procéder à des démontages sans avoir recoure à l'assistance d'un service d'un camion-grue. Bien jouer !

It looks like it was rotting in the largest part of the trunk you can see the discoloration in the inner wood when the guys are posing for their picture at the end. The components of the upper parts still looked pretty good. As you say, too bad. What a tree!

As a climber myself, the amount of jumping and swinging of some of the pieces being picked by the crane is a little disconcerting...that dynamic loading puts a lot more strain on the crane. The use of chains is also interesting...in the U.S. I've only ever seen cable or soft slings used.

@DOORS20 looked like a special occasion and good job to learn crane rigging big bits, the second climber was probably an experienced climber overseeing and offering advice, take downs this size are pretty rare in Europe,.
