In this video I do a virtual tour of El Poblado in Medellin, Colombia.
El Poblado neighborhood in Medellin is considered the nicest and most expensive neighborhood in the city. However, it's very affordable compared to other major cities around the world.
I've lived in Medellin, Colombia since 2010 and I've seen the major changes in tourism and cost of living.
In this video, I discuss different neighborhoods in Medellin, Colombia, with a focus on El Poblado. El Poblado is a popular tourist destination with many restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. It offers newer buildings with amenities like rooftop pools and gyms, making it a sought-after neighborhood by those with money. Despite being an expensive area compared to neighborhoods in Medellin, it is relatively cheap when compared to major cities in the United States and the UK. Neighborhoods like El Tesoro, Castro Pol, Los Balsos, Ciudad El Rio, Manila, and Patio Bonito offer different living experiences, varying from hilly and secluded to flat and more residential.
Highlights
🌟 El Poblado in Medellin is a touristy area with plenty of restaurants, bars, and nightclubs.
🌟 It features newer buildings with amenities like rooftop pools and gyms, making it attractive to affluent residents.
🌟 El Poblado is cheaper than major cities in the US and UK, with apartments available for less than $1,000 per month.
🌟 Other nearby areas like El Tesoro, Castropol, Los Balsos, Ciudad del Rio, Manila, and Patio Bonito offer different living experiences, ranging from hilly and secluded to flat and more residential.

    Y. Are you visitors bringing this nasty American / other country arrogance to this Colombia city I think very important to have respect for a different culture. You moved to Colombia or a different country because the cost of living is unreasonable expensive American the cost of homes or apartments / food / utilities is fucking unreasonable and people are very rude and unlawful America supposed to the best country its full racism’s bull shit lots of crime dangerous cities and people People are leaving America / United Kingdom/ Canada/ Australia because of the prices and horrible behavior !!!! So when relocating to another country I think you should have respect the place / culture/ because these people Your moving to avoid the financial stresses. And don’t bring the same nonsense that pissed you off Because the indigenous people cant afford the American or country life style and then you price those citizens out then shit happens. Now the comments like Gringo go home !!!!!! This can be avoided Price of goods services food homes apartments in another country that’s way cheaper shut your mouth and have some respect and leave the arrogant ignorant racism where you originated from.

Very true! I have seen a lot of videos disparaging El Poblado. That's dumb. El Poblado is much more than two square blocks (Parque Lleras). There are more than 120,000 people who live there. Calling it a neighborhood misrepresents what it is - at least to Americans. My "neighborhood" probably has 1,000 residents and no businesses. That is what Americans think about when they hear the word "neighborhood". That is not what El Poblado is - at all. I would say that it is more of a district than a neighborhood.

@@RenataKolar-wy1qm yeah, that's what I've found. Many mask it with the old "I hate all the tourists" but if you look at the place, it's huge, you can live in El Poblado and never see a tourist if you wanted to...or as you said...if you can afford to. lol

I live in Las Lomas by a creek at the higher elevation of Poblado..I walk through Manila every morning and I love Manila..Las Lomas has panaromic city views of entire city while hearing the creek..I love it..quiet enough to hear birds chirping but only 8 minutes distance to the nightlife.

Hey Andrew glad to see you making some videos and to see the new channel! It’s super cool seeing the creators I watch frequently talking with each other in the comments haha I see AK Joel in here too! I was just watching a live stream the other day that Life with David had up and he had Gungho Gringo on there too so it was neat and then I saw one ACE Live had with Wheres Volpe and Timmy Karter and more but I think it would be cool to see all the creators in one big video maybe like a mixer of sorts and then you’d all be able to grow new subscribers and viewers from each others fanbase :D Regardless I enjoyed the video and keep them coming 🥳

Seems this city is fairly modern, which many prefer, but I like places with more traditional character, historic buildings, street venders etc, not malls and glass buildings, for that I can stay in the US, so I’m not sure I’d like Medellin,

anyone know why this guy got deported? Concerned as I've been in the US 44 years and we did everything by the book when I became a us citizen in 2004. I was told colombia does not recognize me being a naturalized US citizen & still considers me a colombian citizen so how did this guy get the boot?

How does one find out how well earthquaked proof a particular building might be?

  • @MedellinBuzz

    @MedellinBuzz

    8 ай бұрын

I did some research and found out that Medellin and found that a 2012 study claims that 14% of building would be gravely affected by a big earthquake in Medellin. I've been here for 13 years (lived in SoCal for 26 years, where earthquakes are frequent) and I've never really felt anything alarming here. That being said, if a BIG one hit, I'd say there would be a ton of damage, because Colombia is corrupt, and I'm sure most constructors pay their way to fruition. As for figuring out how well constructed a building is. You can easily get the blueprints for buildings through the city and have an architect check it out.

I loved your report on the city and the apartments rented. But you should do the same reports in FRENCH, or at least put the SUBTITLES in FRENCH and the prices in NUMBERS so that those who don't understand English can understand at least the minimum. He doesn't just have English as a second language.
