I don't need to make comparisons to LP, much as I love them, to understand this song by itself. I've got a past I'm deeply ashamed of. And while I tried to move past it for myself, it got out to others and it's sent me into a spiral towards rock bottom. Up until that point, I was enjoing the people I was around... The fun we had and the lengths we (my friends and I) went to to help each other, even from across the nation. Now, they've shunned me and I turn to vices to get me through the day... Feeling shame, embarrassment, humiliation, hate, fear, and so much more about it, hating where it's taken me, and just... feeling like nothing's working to get me through the day anymore... I'm glad I found this song. it was through Lo Spirit, sure, but this song still hits em in a place that my (currently) drunken ass just can't resist the tears with. I know this entire post sounds so cheesy. But you've given me another song I can relate to... You've shown me I'm not alone in these feelings... Whether or not you'll accept my (intentionally vague) past being why I'm hating my life rn, I'm still trying to do better. Not for others, even if it makes me feel less miserable. But for myself...
