I haven't since mine has so far been stable! I would note that the original cable (USB-C to USB-A) became wonky and I did replace it.

Is it possible to have the android explanation?I think is quite different, my car is a chevrolet trax model 2023 doesn't come available for Android, only carplay, I just boutght the EKIY device for android and carplay, wired to wireless but it doesn't start

Hi great Vid - I got this product and it works very well ..But it's connected with the Wifi connection... And i do not have the mannual anymore, so i can no longer use it ? What's your advice ?

Does it actually work over wifi? I was under the assumption you use the wifi to update the firmware etc but the actual operation needs to be under bluetooth. Is this the case you are having? If so, you can try to update the firmware to see if it fixes the settings.

Can we change the song or choose a destination map from the phone? Or it need to do that on the carplay screen on the car?

Yes you if you change a song or change/setup a destination on the phone it will change on the CarPlay screen. You can also change it directly on the screen if you prefer. So both ways work

Hmm.. I updated mine successfully but haven’t been able to connect it. When I try to pair it fails. And Apple CarPlay doesn’t even show up anddddd CarPlay doesn’t come up on my interface 😞 no usb is detected either

Does your car support CarPlay? Have you tried connecting your iPhone directly to the car USB to see if CarPlay shows up?

Problem pair with iPhone 13 and iphone 13 ProMax both ios 17.2. The phone connect but no carplay screen. The old iphone 7+ ios 15.8 and iphone 5s ios 12.5 works well wireless. Any advice for iphone 13 ios 17.2?. EKIY dongle using latest firmware according to update page. Any sugestion?

Update: I notice Iphone 13 cannot find Ekiy direct wifi “smartBox-D2B0”, where iphone 7+ and iphone 5s can find smartBox-D2B0 when searching for device direct wifi. Probably these problem prevent iphone 13/ promax to function with ekiy dongle. Any suggestion?

@@IanRangkuti when I made the video I was also using iPhone 13pro max. I didn’t have the issue you were describing. Did you figure it out eventually?

I have taurus ford it has screen but without car play is it ok with my case?

Hey, just bought this, as I can see, when you configured this, you had 3 prompts to accept, the last one is like “allow CarPlay” or something like that, I’m not getting that one and I have already updated this (even though it appears the same version to upgrade every time I connect to the IP address). Any idea why ?

The 3 pop ups were: pair to the device, synch contacts , use car play with device. If you try it several times it might just connect regardless. Did you end up solving the issue?

@@ioone I’ve tried several times and nothing, it’s not working for me, that’s sad hahaha this weekend I’ll do some tests with other iPhones and cars to see who’s the problem.

I'm not sure if you can wireless update the firmware. You can update it by first connecting it to a wall USB (ie. not the car). Use your iphone to join the network "smartBox_xxxx". The password is 88888888. On your phone, open up the browser and use the address: 192.168.1.101. Once the page loads, click on the link that says "click me to upgrade".
