As an Englishman, it saddens me that the culture native to my country has been all but lost, and that my language has been pushed far away from it roots. Thankfully, in the part of England I live in we have a dialect which occasionally resembles that of our older language, and also its Nordic influences. Not just to the Scandinavians, and the Germanic peoples, but to all of Europe; remember your roots.

the first viking in faroe islands was only half norse While Grímur is an Old Norse first name, Kamban indicates a Celtic origin. Thus he could have been a man from Ireland, Scotland or Isle of Man, where the Vikings already had settlements. Some place names from the oldest settlements on the Faroes suggest that some of the settlers perhaps came from the Scottish islands and the British coast. and the faroese pony are to and it was ther before the vikings and we have names like koltur means calf and dímun saksun +Oisin O Lochlainn
