Possibly the most beautiful song ever written..... either this or @Half Gifts' by Cocteau Twins.

The instrumentation, the timbre of the guitars, the contra basso loneliness, and the additional oblique meter make this track, accompanied by Blixa's spoken wailing, and Anita Lane's ghostly cooing; fucking genius!

I saw them on this tour in San Francisco. My friend and I were hanging out in the lounge upstairs and Mark Chung (bassist) walked right by and smiled at both of us. All these years later I still remember. The show was great as well.

Listening to this is like giving my mind a vacation from reality, it's a different world that I can't explain but I know puts my soul at ease.

Blixa is a genius... do not compare to anyone- Blixa is a professor and lynch is still in the playground

Blixa is the greatest romantic weirdo of all time. This is also the reason this band is so underrated here in the U.S. They would have been automatically labeled as strange and lecherous. Which is exactly the opposite of what this is. To simplify it better. It would have been lost in cultural translation for the greater part of the public at that time. It's perplexing to me as well, that it would have been met that way considering what was more popular here in the US at that time. His facial expressions and movements, and the almost Salvador Dali like expression of his desires would have been considered very creepy because they weren't sexually bombastic. Truly weird, I know. Yet, that is the backwards way it would have been taken. I do get this song and video and I love it.

This is so ahead of its time...

I'm from the UK and have been seeing EN for over 35 years. The only show I've seen outside the UK was in LA for the Tabla Rasa tour. The energy at that gig was so strange from what I was used to. The audience seemed to be far more hostile to the band. I , as always, though they were amazing.

You mean the ones with Italian composer Teho Teardo who lives in Rome? Yes, many questions. It’s the point: dadaism, futurism, any -ism you wish. That album is called ‘Still Smiling’ if you haven’t yet, check it out. It’s very good. The one with the dunce caps. Have a listen.

I know her hair is dark here (I have only seen her with blonde/red hair) and her appearance is super fleeting and partially obscured by the megaphone but..... at 3:48 I'm pretty sure that's her eyes (with darker eyebrows) and 3:33/3:34 I'm convinced that's her nose in profile. Thanks for commenting though Polar Bear! Whoever the mystery woman is, whether she is Anita or not, the song and video are amazing. RIP Anita
