    J. Sleeka old norse was split into two groups old western norse, what later became islandsk, norsk and färöer and old eastern norse what later became svensk and dansk. so norwegian and icelandic come from the same branch of old norse. but since Iceland was more isolated thn norway, it kept the language more or less unchanged and it is still the closest to old norse.

    Are you sure about this? I mean, do you speak either of these tongues, or has someone who does confirmed it to you? I don't, but it sounds pretty Norwegian, plus composing such a work in a dead tongue would be, while not impossible, quite an accomplishment.

    Bengt Svenson sorry but that's not musically possible. Sure his harp may have a unique sound from how he builds them, but someone else will always be able to match the tuning. I'm pretty sure he's tuned to the standard jouhikko tuning, drone in the middle, a fourth above on the bottom string, and a fifth above on the top string. Sounds like F, B flat, E flat possibly. Could be wrong though.

    Hey man, i think that it´s in D#m, the first string is in D#, the second one in Bb, and the third in D# again but one octave lower. It´s the power chord of D#m. Greetings from Tenerife, The Canary Islands.

    @celtic.runesinger2481

    Oftentimes he uses standard Jouhikko tuning as described three replies back, but in this case I think he is tuned in open fifths, so a B flat, an F, and a B flat an octave below. I am a Jouhikko maker, and I use both of these tunings: the open fifth kind is more in the style of the Shetland Gue rather than of the Jouhikko.
