Whoa. She asks the questions but to make her point. Realistic and scary. Whoa. Don’t mess with her! And you can see that she has been thinking this for quite some time.

Iago's motivation: Othello bedded his wife and in this scene she not only admits it, she blames Iago for it.

Greek plays still hold up too, and for the same reason. People are people.

Aristophanes, an ancient Greek playwright some 2400 years ago, sometimes called the Father of Comedy, wrote such gems as "under every stone lurks a politician" "Youth ages, immaturity is outgrown, ignorance can be educated, and drunkenness sobered, but stupid lasts forever." "Look at the orators in our republics; as long as they are poor, both state and people can only praise their uprightness; but once they are fattened on the public funds, they conceive a hatred for justice, plan intrigues against the people and attack the democracy." (And boy doesn't this one seem super relevant about now?) He also may have invented the fart joke. Or at least popularised it. Tl;dr Society changes, but human nature has stayed largely the same for millenia.

So women are just like men in their likes and desires, but it is men's fault when women fail. I think that is called passing the buck, or maybe in this case passing the shilling.
