Isn’t this the interchain security of the cosmos hub?

This will put the eth chain and stake at risk. Seems better suited for L2 to be honest.

Two concerns. 1. Is there a proof that this works? Without a proof, I think the possibility of it getting hacked is very high. 2. Would this introduce instability into the Ethereum consensus layer?

what do you mean proof that this works? if you run a ethereum validator you run additional eigenlayer software and you set your withdrawal address to a smartcontract that says "in addition to your validator duties, now you also have to do x,y,z and if you act maliciously in a defined way, this contract will burn your eth" its pretty simple... so yes ofc. it will work. Means we wont need completely seperate blockchains like chainlink anymore for Oracles and stuff because we can just use the ethereum trust for it.

@@TPGodlike big jump to say we won't need Chainlink anymore, especially when you ref to it is a blockchain. Chainlink is not a blockchain, and it if anything adding something like this as an extension could enable existing Chainlink node providers who also run Ethereum to have extended security guarantees.

@@vinisr12 there is no outsourced security its doing the exact opposite, its using the ethereum trust so that we DONT need outsourced security for example for Oracles. so this makes something like Chainlink with its seprarate blockchain and coin pretty much obsolete. i dont think you fully understood what eigenlayer is trying to do
