Best performer of this aria, she is stunning. But does she really have to take her clothes off? Really? Is that what the old ladies and gays who come to the opera want? To see the soprano take her clothes off? Not to hear the beautiful music ?

Love her performance; bad staging, stupid, unnecessarily obvious cheap symbolism. but a beautiful job singing!

Lovely acting, but some really stupid direction. The man pantomime and the stupid stuff with the glass. It's fake. She's amazing at making most of the aria work emotionally. I imagine the same director helped get her deep into the character, but then didn't trust his/her own work and screwed up by adding staging gimmicks that are pretentious. Funny mix of good and bad. Reminds me of a boring Peter Sellars staging of an opera in Boston; he needed many pages of notes in the program to explain what was supposedly going on onstage, because the staging itself could not make that clear. Sad! :-)

you got a straight eye on it! this is a good voice, wasted in nowwhere....

Sorry to say, but this is nothing. Far away, up from the moment, she trys to act. Even opening her dress seems so clumsy. Her Voice is well eduacated, but this is only ABC... Vibrato on it´s own is no quality for a good Interpretation. Listen to Gundula Janowitz, Edita Gruberowa, and see, what this Aria might be...

Gruberova? Come on. She has no low register. Yo can barely hear her in half of the aria. She is a wonderful singer but not for this. Listen to Caballé or Schwarzkopf instead.
