🥒 ABOUT BEFRS:
Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

i would love to see the history Egypt got and experience it myself. The acceptence of tourists and see the problems and benefits of tourists are part of the industry. If the arab world fail to see that, then they will fail at this industry aswell. Dubai is another failed tourist destination due to the government and tourist problems.

Thank you for being honest about the situation in Egypt. I was forced to leave Egypt and live in exile as a refugee only for being an activist during the revolution. I loved Egypt when I visited. The people were friendly and spoke to me gently, I felt so welcomed. The police were horrible, I was pulled over at the pyramids and asked why I wanted to see them, I wondered why I was singled out but I responded simply to see their beauty. They didn't believe me. I was detained for the rest of the day and told I was trying to destroy their wonders. BTW: I am a 5'2" female, Latina, speak very little Arabic and was with a tour group.

I had the worst experience in Egypt- just from my layover flight alone back in 2007 and i refuse to go back there for any reason. Long story short- had a flight that landed in Cairo at 1 am to catch another flight to Amsterdam at 4 am. Some cop took everyone’s passport, disappeared for an hour and had us stay in some basement area with unsanitary bathrooms stinking next door. When he finally came back- we were moved upstairs to an area with no seats other than at the cafes and you couldn't sit unless you bought some food- you couldn't buy anything either unless you had their currency- i think it was Egyptian Euros or whatever!!!.. and by the way- there was no English speaking airport employee during those hours!!!.. we literally had to stand for hours or sit on their dirty floors as we waited for our… much much needed flight out of there!!.. Never Again!!!!…Even if anyone gave me a million bucks- thats 1 place i’ll never return to for any reason whatsoever!!

I’ve been to Egypt multiple times and one of those times I had the street shawarma there, I got food poisoning the next day after eating that and bruh, Egypt really needs to have safety rules for the food because although the food tastes good, the food gives some people food poisoning and causes them to throw up all day and if I ever had food in Egypt, it would only be at a fancy diner or at a fast food restaurant because street food isn’t safe to eat thanks to the food poisoning

I've been to Egypt before, and it really is a clusterfuck, scammers 24/7 approaching you on the street, always having to talk down prices because they are charging 3-4x more, and the friends I made there told me that it started after the revolution, police oppression, and so on. Dahab was cool, Sinai was cool, and I ate almost everyday the macaroni/chickpeas/onion/vinager/tomato sauce dish. But overall, tourism there is just a shit show, all this coming from a country that literally lives on the resources from tourism is really weird.
