Efteling July 2024

An absolute mega movie episode, this has been a dream park for me for around 5 years, and it feels insanely surreal to be here.

Carnaval Festival is the oldest dark ride in the park, and yes; it's dated. But it's also extremely nostalgic and the kids absolutely love it. They have an entire media franchise surrounding it, including a very popular tv show. I think removing it would be a very bad idea. I do think they would do well to seperate it more from the "World of Sindbad" right next to it, perhaps with more greenery, a wall or even rerouting the entrance to the other side.

@@Thebassjunk I hope they keep it as it is important to the park, but I hope it gets a major refurb and hopefully changing the China and Japan scenes which were questionable, or a new dark ride with the same theme and idea

@@CoasterCactus As a Dutch person that really likes the Efteling, I agree with you. I have a certain disdain for this ride, in part because I hate the aesthetic of it, but mostly because of the racism. As others have said, they apparently did a refurbish and removed like 10% of the racism, but it's still very much there. Missed the point. Don't mind the other commenters, the Netherlands has been swept up by crazy conservative thinking recently but I swear there's a lot of decent people here that see the problem as well. Great vid btw!

Great video, thanks👍 Efteling ist a beautiful parc but not my favorite. I prefer Europapark. Bigger, many more attractions (over a hundred), better and more roller coasters. Five four-star hotels and Rulantica, one of the best water parks in Europe. Phantasialand, Port Aventura, Energylandia or Alton Towers are also good. This is my personal list of my favorite parks in Europe. 1. Europapark ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐+ 2. Phantasialand⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 3. Port Aventura ⭐⭐⭐⭐+ 4. Energylandia. ⭐⭐⭐⭐+ 5. Efteling ⭐⭐⭐⭐+ 6. Disney Paris ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 7. Alton Towers ⭐⭐⭐⭐ and so on....😉

Nice video... your on-ride shots are good but you nailed it with the footage of the outside areas, it really captures the quiet vibe of the park as I remember it. I'll be sure to check out your videos of other parks. BTW yes, many people share your dislike of Carnival Festival.

@@kaasmeester5903 Thank you! And carnival festival was definitely not up to the standards of the rest of the park. Especially during the Japan and China sections i kept cringing at the blatant stereotyping and racist portrayals of asian people. It’s definitely a product of its time but I sincerely hope it either gets overhauled or replaced with something better in the future.

Python is a classic in Efteling. It was installed in 1981 and was the first looping coaster in Europe. The park wanted to get more teens into the park and opened that new area along with the Giant Pirate ship. So not a little of theming, but a true classic. Btw, Villa Volta was the original Mad House. i wondered if you have seen anything from the fairytale forrest, because it looked like you missed it. I hope you get back some day.

@@Nitzpitz I thoroughly enjoyed Python. I’ve ridden a lot of arrow loopers (same layout), and Python is definitely the best I’ve done, I guess i wasn’t expecting it to be more standard presented. Not a bash, just caught me off guard. I managed to sneak in a bit of the forest after I got done filming while leaving the park (briskly walked through it), and made it to the donkey statue with the castle. Absolutely beautiful and next time I will definitely spend a few hours back there, reminded me of Enchanted Forest in Salem, OR And Villa Volta was awesome, one of my favorite dark rides

@@CoasterCactus There is some misinformation being peddled here. The entrance building was not a gift from anyone; it was paid for by the Efteling. Also we don't have free healthcare in the Netherlands, just mandatory health insurance. You may be thinking of the UK, where they do have free healthcare.
