Efren Bata Reyes is a terribly humble and likeable sportsman and Filipinos are very proud of him. The number 1 sports hero in the Philippines, he goes around without bodyguards. He never thought of running for public office as most Filipino celebrities do, and gained the respect of his countrymen because he doesn’t pretend to know anything else but his favorite game for which he is famous for. Efren is happy with his honest money and adoring billiards fans. I hope he lives many more years to continue entertaining the world with his skill.

I love The Magician but he was getting lots Tournament play..........I barely seen Minnesota Fats miss a ball when you look at old footage and his angles and symmetry look on a table dwarfs Effren look him up ok tell me im wrong...............To cancel that guy out is a misdemeanour...Admittedly while Effren is a lovely guy and Fats not so much your missing a lot of facts here bro.

During the 80’s he used to play GI’s outside of Clark Air Base. I had the opportunity of playing him one time. I broke, and that was it for me. As he got famous he would do trick shots in bars outside the base. He is a very nice person!!!

Imagine being the greatest pool player, but an even better human being. This guy is a legend!

His smile is so contagious.

He just plays his heart out. If he wins he says he is just lucky and thanks God. If he loses congratulates the victor, never says a bad word, moves on to his next game. Mark of a true sportsman, a true champion. The best part win or lose he wins the hearts and admiration of the people watching and of his opponent. Simply put WOW!

Love you Efren. Overall Philippines are most humble people, most hardworking I have experienced here in Canada.

I had a lot of nicknames in pinball that I used to play for money. I still think at age 4 and a half I was the best pinball player in the world. Even today at age 62 years 11 months I still have a worldwide challenge to anyone to play for money under the name Tommy Tutalidge.

One of the nicest guy you will ever meet. Have a chance to meet this guy years and years ago. Truly a humble man and i might add some of the best poker face in the game. If you think you got him in a snooker move thing again.. they need to build this guy a statue in his home town. So much respect.. now that he retired from the sports the sports will never be the same..
