The stage box is awesome. You can hide all the XLRs now down low. But Dante support would take the clean looks to the next level though...

We also ended up with the 703. We added some additional cymbals to make it closer to a 703X and we love it. :)

I had the chance to play an EfNote kit a couple of years ago in a church that had one. It was a decent experience. Definitely still have to spend time dialing in sounds and making it feel good, but it was a good product.

I'd love to hear what it sounds like in the room. My main problem with electronic drums is the rubber noise with each hit. When my church used one we still had to have a small shield to reduce that.

We've had an efnote pro for over 6 months now. We setup & teardown all on Sunday and not in a large space (fits about 200-300) so doing an acoustic set would have been a LOT of work to get right every week. As the FOH mixer and not the drummer, I am very glad to have the separate channels. While it wasn't obvious to me at the time, that's a must have for me, granted I can't speak to every churches budget. I also appreciate that members of the congregation don't clearly see it as electric and it also allows the drummer be more engaged with the team and not in a box of isolation. One thing I still would love is the ability to load your own samples directly in to the kit. Maybe in an update one day, but not available yet.

Good video. Clearly the church has a healthy budget, so you should be able to purchase a stand for the laptop. Maybe the chair is more comfortable for it. 😂

I remember Roland V Drums being this good 10-15 years ago at a church I went to. Felt natural and the cymbals were great which was rare….. haven’t played a e kit any where near as good in years.

How often does any (contemporary) church still use an acoustic piano (for other than the shell to disguise the Nord) ? Keep in mind you can take existing digital drums and disguise them in acoustic shells pretty easily (and inexpensively) - I've converted 2 entire Yamaha kits into acoustic shells mainly because people listen with their eyes - hilarious how they comment on how great the "new" drums sound when it is exactly the same set re-skinned. I've had to go between acoustic/digital drums in the past and either way only takes about a verse/chorus of a song to re-calibrate my brain either way.

Would also love to see this kit used in conjunction with some downloaded samples. Especially with the new Steven Slate drum trigger plugin, you could combine some samples and tones from the kit to really dial in the sound you wanted😎

Cymbal swells? Mallets? As contemporary worship music tends to have a lot of this, that would have been nice to see. I'm sure there's some type of setting for it, but nothing beats an acoustic kit. Still roughly the same cost as a full acoustic kit and brass. I haven't had a chance to play one of these, but the brass is always the achilles heel, especially the hats. Decent video.

I have a friend who bought that exact kit in black for his church and had the opportunity to play it. The cymbals, just like every e-kit, are trash. I hope the cymbal companies can make a solution that are like the silent practice cymbals with some sort of trigger or piezzo mic that give playing areas on each cymbal so that we can feel like we're playing real drums. It's like playing a guitar with rubber or plastic strings (and not in a good Spanish guitar nylon string way).

Look around at KZread channels 65 Drums and rdavidr drums, Zildjian is releasing an e Kit with their own metal e cymbals, looks like the best thing that has happened to e kits in a long time. That said, I still don’t think any e kit is going to fulfill all the hopes and dreams of worship drummers swells and cymbal needs.

you can but a stage of the art acoustic drum kit with drum mics and drum enclosure for the same price. the only downside to that is you need a competent sound engineer to make it sound good which is never the case at local churches.

We are almost 2 months into our 703x use. While I love many aspects of this kit, cymbals are still my biggest complaint in the areas of feel, dynamics and even the plugs are coming out (although the clips are a nice touch, they are not doing the job). I am one of the drummers are our church and also one of the FOH audio volunteers. I think we are just scratching the surface of this kit's capabilities. Nice video. You beat us to a review of it :). Also, one of the big sellers for our use is the consistency gained each week despite having different drummers and FOH engineers.

That would be an interesting combo. Noisy cymbals though is one of the reasons we steered away from the DW kit. We have so,w more dialing in to do and it is a bit of technique and feel adjustments being made by us drummers. Confident we’ll get there. Also going to look at adding back our Roland TM-2 for some additional sounds. Glad you posted a review. There were plenty of video out on the EFNOTE pro but none specifically in the worship setting with feedback from worship folks.
