The motocross community throught the country is a tight knit group of great families . We all share the same fears , hopes and dreams to excell in maybe the most challenging motorsport there is. This young man lived to chase his dream knowing the possibilies that could happen. Prayers to his family for getting thru this loss. And kudos to them for letting him chase his dream . RIP young man .

As a former racer who went out with a major knee injury I decided to stop motocross racing and get a full cage. I Wouldn't trade it for the world racing a bike was the greatest thrill. We all know you can get hurt, paralyzed or killed BUT WE all assume it will be the other guy. As they say when you push the limits sometimes the limits push back. RIP dirt brother.

My condolences for the family! That being said we have to make the racing safe and it is possible. First of all he hit a tree. Simple! Move the track far enough away from trees or if they are near a tree make sure it’s a turn or a low speed area. Helmets should also be twice as large and they would make a difference

With only a good heart, I hope it was quick for him & hope he passed doing what he loved! For the parents; if you believe in God, then it is obvious that God needs him now more than ever. If you do not, then I hope you can find peace within your vast memories of him. He was real & think of only the beauty he had brought or shared within this world. From anything, to a subtle smile he once cracked to even a life lesson he had taught unknowingly to you or anyone else in this realm of a place we call life. If you look hard enough he is still with you.

From what that kid said happened to his dad, I guess he hit a tree, which is absolutely ridiculous. Why the hell are there trees and poles everywhere alongside this track?!! They’re all saying, “These things happen, there’s always a risk.” But this was completely avoidable! This track is unsafe. I have never seen a pro track lined with immovable objects, because that would be completely crazy and asking for trouble.

Tracks could be alot safer. You can't ride around most of them unless you are hauling ass. Makes it difficult for new people wanting to get into the sport. Should be able go around track slow without endowing rolling over a jump because they want to save on dirt on the back side of the take off.

@@hung8969 I was speaking on MX tracks in general. I know what South Wick is. For example BMX tracks have Pro sections that are knarly but you can still roll through them going slow. Just about every track I go to you have to haul ass or you will crash. I've been riding for years. But when new people start you can't even learn the track cause you have to send it to go around it. You really cant work your way into it. Kinda like BMX trail jumps. You either send it and land it or you eat shit.

Southwick is actually known for the fact of having so little jumps if any really and just using the natural landscape. Like someone previously stated it was jday so pretty good chance wasn't even on the track and some random spot in the woods. Motocross is dangerous and accidents happen even in the simplest of sports, immediately throwing blame at the tracks which you pretty much deemed to be all unsafe by purposeful design , all throughout the world is disgusting and why there is so little places to ride today. Shit happens and motocross is dangerous immediately tossing blame on unfit tracks with absolutely no info regarding this incident and claiming to be a member of the sport is foul af and might wanna consider something else. Sorry if this sounds extreme but when shit like this happens our community needs to come together not frivolously tossing blame. Unacceptable bro
